from FIGHTNEWS.COM:
"Heavyweight Calvin Brock (30-1, 23 KOs), returning from his unsuccessful heavyweight title shot against Wladimir Klitschko, got back in the win column with a first round KO against Ralph West (17-11-1, 14 KOs). A right hand put West down for the count. Time was 2:49."
glad to see him come back with a win, after being brutally KOed by Wlad.
no but i means he's always fighting as the smaller man.
I think the Cruiserweight division would be one of the best in boxing if these wanna be heavyweights would get in shape and fight at 200 pounds.
It SHOULD be the most exciting division in boxing, but eveyone wants that money i guess. cant blam 'em
The heavyweight division should actually be called fattyweight because that is what it is. More than half of them would be reclassified as cruisers if they got off their lazy asses and did some roadwork.
Last night's KO win was just what Calvin needed to get some of his confidence back and get back into the mix. Calvin should consider a fight with Joe Mesi, Sergei Liakhovich, or even Tye Fields.
So it is chubbiness that is causing him to get hit? :ugh:

I've spoken with 2 of his former opponents, and they both said that he should be a cruiserweight. He has too much chubbiness on his sides to be a heavyweight.
if he was 210 lbs I'd possibly agree with that but he's much too big framed to ever be a cruiserweight. he's in pretty solid shape when he's down around 220 lbs. he could never make it as low as the cruiserweight level

....I thought this thread was about Calvin Brock and not James Toney. :)
