De Leon vs Penalosa

Pinoys hate the fact that marquez won because Pac has no chance against him......gerry is the best skilled filipino boxer and he was schooled by a guy still learning the craft.....and remember that they changed the gloves from 8 ounces to 10 ..that is why their are not that many knock outs in vegas anymore...and the main reason pac doesn't want to fight in vegas... 10 ounce gloves are for 135 and above. Pac said yes to a rematch, who said no after their fight?

Daniel Ponce de Leon looked good on paper, I thought he owns some devastating power punches, but I was disappointed when I finally watch him fight, he threw wild punches like a girl (Laila Ali could do better, lol), but at least he got his mind worked out (which Penalosa failed to do) and threw more punches (even ineffective), which earned him the win. i can see daniel ponce's victory was his activity andout worked penalosa for the win ... but now for Pinoy's we see him as vulnerable champion, easiest route to the 122lbs belt...

This kind of coments from pinoy boxing fans makes us real boxing fans loose respect for you guys.Everytime a pinoy losses to a mexican in a world championship bout you guys resort to smack talking and excuses,ponce de leon beat him fair and square,even letterman,steward,and merchant had de leon winning.So just deal with it. i have not finished watching the fight yet but my score card is vastly different from letterman ... he got 4 rounds to 2 for ponce, i got same score but for penalosa ... although i can see how he got that score, before the start of the fight i heard they mention scoring rules and they mentioned "effective aggresiveness" i think that counted a lot for the discrepancy on our scorecards ... we pinoys have known for ages that you have to rip those belts from the champion by KO or totally dominating the fight, and you can't hope to win a close fight cuz the champion will always get the benefit of the doubt and penalosa failed to do both, therefore the loss ...

even the hopkins-forbes was a crazy decision.. :mad: and I dont know why the fuck Hopkins win via wide margin.

do you guys notice the big fat blonde bitch seating in the front row, she's seating in 3 seats !!! yeah, she sits sideways on the de Leon fight, I think she found it boring. lol

For the experience that penalosa has..he should have won by boxing since ponce couldn't crack his defense...but penalosa threw very little punches and that is why he lost....eventhough ponce hit arms and elbows ..those still hurt and may have contributed to penalosa not throwing many punches....I think penalosa should fight bautista first because it would be a good lesson for bautista too...but if not ponce will easily win by knock out... wow this is the first post i seen that you made which is not smack talk or flaming... and its good old boxing talk ... what you said is clear, ponce was the bigger younger and stronger fighter and he threw thousand of punches, although majority got defended some of it still hit the arms the elbows and some other clean hits forcing penalosa to tighten his guard resulting to lesser punches thrown... bautista and penalosa dont need to fight, they can just spar against each other... penalosa should go down and challenge other champions, but if he can not get a fight against these champion ... he could be a good tune up for either vasquez or marquez, i think his showing in the ponce fight deserve some merit and i expect him to have a couple of good payday fights...

Thats funny because 1st you said that Mexican were in for a surprise because gerry would beat ponce and now your talking about boom boom which he doenst have the boxing skills gerry has. when did i say gerry would beat ponce? if you watch the fight again ponce was getting rocked by a natural 155 lber what would happen if boom threw those bombs? and boom is no manny pacquiao kid has skills and power.
