That's right- it's a real possibility. Anyone here want to see the fight? Would you prefer Mosley-Ouma or Mosley-Baldomir?
OUMA : "It's about fighting against the best in the industry. It looks like everyone has a fight lined up on their schedule and I haven't fought yet this year. The fight I really want is Cory Spinks because he beat the guy that beat me and I know he wants to fight me and he can sell tickets in St. Louis. But at the same time the promoters aren't making it happen so I think fighting Mosley would be a good thing. He's with Golden Boy and I'm with them as well so I think it would be easy to make that happen. Mad respect to Mosley for his last fight, he looked good against Collazo and I'm in boxing to fight the best. "
MOSLEY: "If Ouma can make 147 pounds, that would be a fight that I'd take. I'm willing to fight anyone at 147. The Baldomir fight is still being talked about, but Ouma is a tough fighter and if he can make welterweight I'll definitely consider it."
I guess what it comes down to is, would you rather see him fight again this year, or wait for a big name to open up and not? He says he needs to stay sharp by fighting...
you thought taylor was hitting ouma at will with clean shots, it's only going to be worse from mosley, not that mosley hits harder than taylor but mosley is more accurate and has better ring generalship than taylor. this is a fight that i don't want to see, i like both guys but ouma is way to hittable for mosley. mosley by lopsided UD in a fight that you'd probably want to see stopped but the thing is ouma can take whatever anyone throws at him, i think it would be nasty to watch, not to say ouma wouldn't be competitive he would but he'd be eating too many shots for me to get into this fight.
I understand your point, but even if Ouma is at his best, Shane will beat him. Ouma doesn't put much steam on his punches, and Shane can take a good punch. Shane has been in there with a prime Vernon and Winky. Shane will outbox Ouma easily, and knock him down once or twice.
I have no desire to see this fight. Ouma looked awfull against Jermain, all he could do was shoot a little one two, and then stumble forward into Jerman because his balance and footwork suck. Mosley would destroy him.
I think the performance of Kassim in the Taylor fight was quite atypical for him and influenced by Jermain's size advantage. Assuming Ouma would fight at 147, against a smaller Mosley, like he did against Taylor is wrong. He'd be back to his high punch output and aggression. Whether or not he wins is another thing...but his fighting shouldn't resemble the Taylor fight in the least...

I'd rather see this than Mosley-Baldomir which would be Floyd-Baldomir like. Shane would take Baldomir to school. I think Shane would UD Ouma too.
How bout just Ouma-Spinks at 154, and Shane vs whoever or I guess Baldomir at 147.
Whoa. Bold prediction. Would you take it to the bank?
I think his style can keep him in any fight that hes not badly outsized, like he was against Taylor.
Ouma can beat Mosley.
His fight with Taylor pissed me off so much. He had a few solid wins after his loss to Karmazin and he ruined all of the momentum he had by fighting Taylor. Id be excited about a fight with Spinks because I think his constant pressure would break Spinks down in the championship rounds.
On paper, I think Mosley would get equal credit from fighting either Baldomir or Ouma. Baldomir's last fight was against the pound for pound champion of the sport. If Baldy is good enough for him, why not for Mosley? Kassim recently danced with the middleweight champion- again, if Taylor can fight him who can blame Shane for wanting to?
I know the arguments about Ouma and Baldomir's chin being solid enough that Mosley can't stop them but I'm sure that is in Shane's mind. People love KO's....if Shane can use his speed and stop a Baldomir or a Ouma it'll be a performance that fuels him towards a bigger showdown.
That is true. :fing02:
I'm sure Shane will make the best of it should he fight either.
Why fight either of two guys who just caused dissent and booing for PBF and Taylor??
Neither could make for a very exciting fight in terms of popcorn.
Chins like theirs cause narcolepsy.
Bad performances HURT fighters. Look at Taylor, Calzaghe, PBF, ect....
Shane is not Floyd, and Shane is not Jermain - but still..
Not now. Do nothing instead.
Wait awhile..

While I agree it looks like Mosley is down to two possibilities- Baldomir or Ouma. Neither are 'box office fighters'. Yes, it does feel like he's wasting the end of his career but if you listen to what he says he has no other choices this year. It's either fight someone far below his level or don't fight at all- and he wants to stay active.

I would strongly prefer not to see this fight.
Mosley needs to fight strictly box office fighters at this point.
No wasting his last fights..
He has a chance right now to really do something special.
