Peter Manfredo: "You're going to watch a determined fighter on April the 7th. I'm going to be in there till the end, and when I step through those ropes I'm ready to die in there and do whatever it takes to bring the WBO title back to America"
What do we think his tactics will be?
Manfredo will take too many slaps to the face and get KO'd.
that made me literally laugh out loud. but those slaps r getting him money that most of us arnt getting.:o
Perhaps he's hoping he'll start to smell causing Joe's corner to throw in the towel.
It's a very negative way to announce your intentions to your opponent. Manfredo will lose bad. Why? because he's already focused on losing and not winning.
Thats right. This is all the fault of the Brits. What idiots we are for paying for it.
Whats really ridiculous is that Calzaghe has to fight this guy to raise his profile in AMERICA. Where apparently you dont recognise long-term world champions with almost record-breaking defences of their title simply because they werent born on your isles.
Works both ways.
The fact that this fight is even taking place points out all that is wrong with boxing. Here you have a guy who is supposed to be a 'world' champion fighting a guy whose claim to fame is that he LOST a tv show.
And anyone paying to see it,really needs a life...don't you Brits have anything better to do?You would waste your hard earned dollars on a farce?
What next?...watching ButterBean?...tipping over an old lady?...taking candy from a child?
Calzaghe ought to be ashamed of himself for taking this fight,as should anyone paying money to see it.
once again, i gotta mention, i think this is gonna be a much better, and a much more 2-sided fight then everyone seems to think.
Manfredo just seems like he has the toughness and heart to stay in with a guy with calzaghe for a full 12 rounds

Figuratively speaking or not, we don't want to hear about the prospect of any fighters dying in the ring, period!
Try not to get hit too much, hope Calzaghe gets over-confident and then look to take him down with a big counter punch.
Realistically, Manfredo does not have much chance of out-working, out-fighting, out-hearting, out-lasting nor out-thinking Calzaghe. So I dont doubt that he's resigned himself (perhaps thats stated unfairly) to the fact that he is going to have to hope Calzaghe makes a few mistakes and he capitalises on them.
