I mean, He scores the 8th round brutal Knockdown, and retreats right after Mirand gets up.
He was afraid of everything Miranda did. He can only blame himself for basically getting knocked out in the 10th round.
Had he threw more of those hellacious combinations that almost seperated Mirandas head from his body, he could have won via KO.
Well the critics were right... both guys tasted the canvas. But Green let me down big time.
Needless to say, Miranda Won me over as a fan. Not just because he has heacious power and likes to fight dirty and mix things up. But because he fights with such Passion.
And, like the champion he is, he went out for round 10 in a fight he had already won, and tried desperately for the KO.
I'm not so quick to judge fighters because I know firsthand how incredibly hard boxing can be to do. It doesnt have to be a lack of courage on Green's part, it could be a number of things. I for one definitely thought that he seemed sluggish. Slow to pull the trigger, kind of tight. 162 probably just isnt his weight.
I think that Green just went in with the mentality that he was too skilled for this guy and that he would outbox him. And because of that he was too poised and doing too much thinking which made him forget to let his hands go. Every boxer who steps in the ring has an underlying fear of getting hit with something big, but its something you deal with mentally time in and time out. It doesnt mean you are gonna stop punching because of it.
Just wasnt Green's night, and the tenacity of Miranda was too much for him.
Green was busy trying to avoid them bombs coming at his head. Miranda is no joke, he is the real deal. He's the catalyst that will light a fire in the division. Along with Taylor, Pavlik, Miranda, Abraham, the division is very exciting. Where were these guys when Hopkins was around?
I think the reason Green fought so tentative was because he tasted Miranda's power in the first round. After that it seemed he didn't want to engage or put himself in the danger zone. Green's knockdown of Miranda was ok but Miranda's feet seemed more out of position than hurt or else Green would've tried harder to finish him.
Green needs to man up.
If he wasnt afraid of Edison, he could have won that fight.
At least now everyone will be off Miranda's nuts.
...I see Anorak has struck your Avy. lol lol
Green was afraid to exchange for a reason. He was looking for excuses too. I just think its a very poor performance from a guy who was talking so much trash. Miranda had Green hurt a few times throughout the fight, and then the big finish. When Green knocked him down, I dont think he was hurt at all.
Two good wins in a row for Miranda. I imagine HBO is drooling over a matchup with Taylor now.
A huge disappoint for both guys. LIke PBF34 said, this should have ended the MIranda hype. He doesn't have to keep parading his weaknesses for us. But he wants big fights at least, so he says, so we won't have to argue over it
It wasnt an incredible or impressive knockout win like people were expecting.
Miranda showed many flaws and poor defense.
Which is exciting.
Forget talent, people like action and passion when they watch sports.
Miranda brings all that to the table, and then some.
I would go as far as saying he is the most exciting fighter in the middlweight division. Maybe in the sport, because of his lack of defense and explosive power.
This was a boring fight because GREEN was afraid to fight. He was afraid of Mirandas power. CLEARLY showing his inexperience and immaturity.
OFF Mirandas nuts???
He nearly knocked the guy out...
Wait for Taylor to do that.
And i think if he fine tunes his boxing skills, and becomes a multidimensional guy, they have every right to be on his nuts.
And that power is so devestating. I STILL thought it was a semi-myth. But holy shit

That was the best part. Good thing for Yellow it wasn't a 12 round fight, he didn't back up the shit he was talking. If only Miranda works on being more technical...
I was actually more impressed with Green then Miranda. When he tried to fight he was dominating Miranda. I think making 162 effected his energy and he just couldn't get anyhting started.

For such a YOUNG and HUNGERY fighter, GREEN showed very little PASSION/COURAGE... | BoxingScene Community
