Tommy said he wants to fight James Tony cause he don't like him. Who would win?
From ESPN.COM
Morrison hopes to eventually work his way back into a big fight. He mentioned an eventual match with ex-champ Riddick Bowe or a rematch with Ray Mercer. But he really wants to fight James Toney.
"Toney is someone I want to fight down the line," Morrison said. "I will put him in the hospital. I don't like him. I don't like his attitude. He doesn't represent being a contender the way it should be done. He walks around like he's the second coming and he looks like a 38-year-old truck driver."
What can he prove to himself. I suppose money helps but would he make much at this stage of his career?
well,,,,even 10 thou may be a lot to him if he's as broke as a joke which he probably is
I think Tommy is doing this more to prove himself. He still feels that he has unfinished business with a lot of these guys and he needs the money. As long as he tests negative then let him fight.

I'd love to see Morrison take on Toney. Imagine if he landed a good left hook and knocked him out? BRUTAL PWNAGE potential here!
I doubt that would happen, though.
someone with hiv aint going to get any big fights anyway, he will continue to fight in states that dont require blood tests like where he just fought.
whats this post have to do with what I said? Ive already stated in numerous other posts that morrison is too far gone to be able to compete with even top 30 guys at this point in his career
another one falls for the hype surrounding peter's supposed power. Peter has yet to be able to knockout an even semi durable heavyweight. his punches lack snap and are too long. he's strong physically but not a big knockout puncher like a young morrison was. not even close

I actually dont see why Morrison is coming back. He wont beat the top boys so what can you really acheive after so long out?
obviously the money. thats what brings all fighters back
Umm, and Tommy has?
He's looking at guys who he might be able to be competitive with who have some kind of name recognition. He's out to make a few dollars in his comeback- he's not going after the title. I think looking at fighters of his generation is exactly what he should be doing at this stage.
yea,,,,he's being realistic. it would be a bit laughable if he started calling out a klitschko. still even an aging toney would be too much for morrison after being out 11 years. I just cant see him ever being able to go more than a few rounds anymore. he needs guys that he can catch and take out early
wow, lookin at riddick bowe, ray mercer, or james toney.
dont aim too high now, tommy.:ugh:
some1 needs to tell him that mercer and bowe havent been contenders in almost a decade.

This would be a huge mismatch.Toney may be past his best but he has still been activley competing at the highest level for the last few years.I cant see Morrison going more than 6 rounds against any top 10 heavyweight at the moment.Tommy is a likable fighter who had good power and a ton of heart but his stamina and chin were never that good even in his prime. After such a long layoff i cant see him being able to compete at anywhere near this sort of level.
Im not sure that the Morrison of old would have the tools to deal with Toneys style of fighting.
I would love to see the Duke v Toney. I would love for Morrison to spank Toney. But i think Toney would beat Morrison. But i hope this comes off. That is if Toney hasnt retired yet. Whats Toney keep fighting for now anyway? He keeps getting his ass handed to him. And because noone knocks him out, he gets battered for 12 rounds each fight.
Toney may be slick, but he wasn't slick enough for a lumbering Sam Peter. I think age has caught up on Toney.
How you can say that after watching the second fight is absurd.
Peter was actually out counter punching Toney at times with straight shots, and showed that he does in fact have boxing skills. The work with the jab neutralized Toney's attack. And if you don't remember....Toney landed some SERIOUS shots on Peter. I used to talk smack about his punching power......but after visually seeing what they did to Peter I changed my mind.
He looked better in his last fight than he did in a while IMO. Outside of his inactivity he did a good job setting up shots.

Peter was far from lumbering in the rematch.
Peter learned alot from fighting Toney once, and used an effective gameplan and utilized his powerful jab.
Hes also consideribly more powerful than Morrison, Toney couldnt walk through Peters shots like he has been able to do with so many past opponents.
