IF (and its a HUGE if) Green gets by Miranda, what do you think of him takin on a nobody at 168 as a tune up, an then goin straight to 175 to fight DAWSON???
I think DAWSON should make his first or second defense against Green. Green isnt as dangerous as any of the other major guys out there at 175. that Dawson wants, but he is a credible opponent and if Green beats Miranda, he will be highly regarded.
And if you think 175 is a little high for green, consider the fact that he started his career at 175 and even got as high as 181 for a fight. (Read it in an article on this site.)
WHat do you think?
At 28 years old, Green could have defeated 2 legends in the makings.
Not to mention the fact that Dawson-Green makes for an AMAZING fight.
I like the idea of the Green-Miranda winner fighting Pavlik.Either of them against Pavlik would be a good fight. If Green wins and wants to return to 168 he should fight Kessler provided he gets by Andrade.A fight with Calzaghe would be huge but I doubt that Green is ready for that caliber of a fighter.
If he's not ready for Calzaghe he's no more ready for Kessler.
With Green fighting at middle and Dawson having just beaten Adamek at LHW, I don't see Green having any kind of hope of winning this at 175 - as things stand. Would be a stupid fight to make.
We don't even know if Green would be competitive against top 5-10 SMW's.
I don't think Miranda will amount to much against the elite fighters. Neither will Pavlik...
I agree about Pavlik. He seems a bit sluggish and stuff. Entertaining though.
But i think Miranda just needs some fine tuning and he'll be there. He already has the power to get him out of a tough situation, He just needs to boxing skill to build an early lead.

If Green wins, he will stay at middleweight and target Jermain Taylor. Most likely, the winner of tomorrow's fight will face Pavlik for a shot at Taylor...
Well theres the other thing.
Abody else see this Incredible TRIO forming???
MIRANDA-GREEN-PAVLIK.
All sluggers, all have spectacular knockouts to their names, all power punching extraordinairs.
And these guys arent even at the top of their games yet, or even their divisions.
This is like how the other great mid-lowerweight divisions got started.
Hearns-Leonard-Duran. Many of the fights between these 3 guys were when they werent at the top of the division or the top of their games yet.
I think that Dawson and Miranda would both beat green as of now. If green really showed some good stuff against miranda than maybe he has a shot. Chad looked really good in his last outing against high quality opposition. Green's not on that level yet.

Nah that's foolish and wishful thinking. Yeah he started at the higher weight class but he went down in weight for a reason, don't you think so? Maybe he feels he's not comfortable at that weight or something . . . but what ever, it's more realistic to think that he has his eyes set for Taylor or Abraham and not anybody else in the higher weight class.
So as to your question . . . no that won't happen.
Well think of it this way.
If TAYLOR decides to go up to 168, Beating EDISON MIRANDA isnt going to get him a shat at the TAYLOR. Not only is Miranda at a different weight class, but Miranda isnt a big name.
But if Green beats Miranda AND Dawson in 2 wars, which i would expect nothing less of either fight, His name gets shot up there with the taylors and the Wrights.
He could become a star in only 2 fights.
And with a fitness trainer, he could be ripped at 175. He's ripped at 168... so imagine him at 175

I think Dawson would box Greens ears off,Dawsons a very good boxer, and has nice power,Green aint ready for Dawson IMO,oh and i hear hes changed his name to AWSONE CHAD DAWSON lol
