Here are some differences, some already mentioned but here's a summary:
Weight class (and thus Floyd's speed and quickness suffers a bit), Oscar's condition (both Gatti and Corrales were as DRAINED as a human can be going into a huge athletic event) how Reyes gloves will effect Floyd's hands (he can't wear pillows), Oscar's power (stronger than both Gatti and Corrales), Oscar's focus (for reasons already mentioned), Oscar's chin (also already discussed, Floyd won't stop Oscar), Oscar's skill level (...).

i have watched the pre-delahoya/trinidad fight, but this isn't about their fight, but i think you were trying to make the point that oscar never claimed he won't go blow for blow with his opponents, just like he did with gatti, but nonetheless, floyd's win imo was more impressive than oscar's but hey, whatever, it's our opinion.
I wasn't talking about the Trinidad fight, but all his prior fights. He didn't try to win Floyd's way. You can be more impressed by a certain style, but that is just a preference. Oscar blew out some good fighters early that Floyd might have beaten by wide UD. You can be more impressed by the latter, but it doesn't mean much other than that you prefer defensive fighters. It doesn't make Floyd better. Maybe you like Ali more than Frazier. I prefer Frazier.
I disagree that Floyd beat Gatti more impressively, but I understand why you think that. Now go back and watch any pre-Trinidad De La Hoya. It was never his goal to keep from getting hit at all. He beat a lot of fighters by overpowering them. Not that he was ever a crude brawler, but he never tried to fight like Mayweather did against Gatti. When you go into every fight knowing you have 1) more power and 2) a better chin, that is not the idea. And for Oscar there were few fights in which he did not have those advantages. In the upcoming fight Oscar knows he has huge power/chin advantages, so if you're going to judge the fight according to who gives the best impersonation of Wille Pep, the choice will be easy.i have watched the pre-delahoya/trinidad fight, but this isn't about their fight, but i think you were trying to make the point that oscar never claimed he won't go blow for blow with his opponents, just like he did with gatti, but nonetheless, floyd's win imo was more impressive than oscar's but hey, whatever, it's our opinion.
Why did Jim Lampley say in the 4th round, "So already Floyd Mayweather has made a mark on Dela Hoya." ? Anyone else find that strange nowaday?
I caught that too....but of course he means Floyd Sr. making a impact or transition of styles on Delahoya lol..
i have seen both gatti vs dlh and pbf many times and let me tell you guys this, gatti hard;y even hit floyd when they fought. hell, harold lederman scored i believe either round 3 or 4 of the fight 10-8 and it wasn't even a knockdown in the round. that's saying a lot. gatti was taken out of the fight from round 1, because he knew he couldn't really take it to pbf like he wanted to. floyd was too fast for him, and his footwork was too nice for him as well. i mean, oscar went blow for blow with gatti and it was cool and all, but floyd just tagged the living hell out of gatti each round, and each round got worst and worst. gatti wasn't throwing back punches hardly when he fought floyd. gatti stunned oscar in the first round. gatti never stunned floyd in their fight. floyd, in round 6, threw a viscious combo to the body and head, and then followed up not too long afterwards with a three punch hook combo to where floyd leaped when he threw his combos. it was a one-sided fight. that's a real one-sided fight when you only see one person fighting really. gatti punched oscar a lot of time, he just didn't really hurt him, but he did stun him in the 1st, and a couple more times, but gatti never hurt or stunned floyd, by no means. floyd's win over gatti was a badder beating than oscar's beating.

Can anyone tell me why DLH vs PBF is going to be different from those fights again?
De la hoya has better overall experience then those opponents just watch gatti v.s De la Hoya.
Why did Jim Lampley say in the 4th round, "So already Floyd Mayweather has made a mark on Dela Hoya." ? Anyone else find that strange nowaday? Haha. Also, damn, I almost forgot just how tiny Gatti looked in this fight. He was getting killed!
Whats funny is GATTI hurt his right hand in the 3rd round of that fight and for anyone who says the DELAHOYA beating was worse than MAYWEATHER-GATTI is crazy.First off GATTI ACTUALLY SHOWED UP TO FIGHT against DELAHOYA and lets not forget he moved up from 135 in one jump to 147 and fought a 29 year old DELAHOYA for his 2nd fight at that weight. He caught OSCAR with a left hook to the jaw in either the 1st or 2nd round that actually seemed to stun OSCAR.Even MAYWEATHER SR.between rounds is saying don't mix it up with GATTI,whats funny to me is everyone says OSCAR-GATTI was so one sided without EVER EVEN SEEING IT.It just goes to show how dumb many boxing fans are ,many people agree the fight was fairly competive while it lasted and the fight was stopped to soon.ARTURO fired his trainer that night in the dressing room for stopping it prematurely. I mean really even MAYORGA only went 5 rounds with a 34 year old OSCAR not a 28 year old at his peak version.I just want people to realize the fight was a lot more competitive than people think even OSCARS face after the fight is a little banged up.
I honestly think the question is dumb, But I also honestly never seen gatti vs DLH ..damn I wanna see this, Somebody help. :(
i think you could probably youtube it pretty easily. gatti's face was just ugly when that thing got stopped.
if anything, go download Castillo I & II...he's probably the closest thing to Oscar's style that Floyd has ever fought...cinco de mayo is either going to look like his 1st or 2nd castillo fight.....choose either one...
