Edison ‘Pantera’ Miranda is taking his next fight with Allan Green personally. The two meet on March 3rd in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the fight will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing. After the fight was signed, Green stated that ‘Miranda is stupid’ and a ‘one dimensional fighter’. He said many other derogatory comments that were for the most part ignored by Pantera. However, it quietly gave Pantera a huge injection of strength, hunger, and determination. ‘I’d like to thank this kid for saying these stupid things. If he only knew how much it helped me during camp. You can be assured that it will be hanging in my locker room before the fight, and that I will remember all of this in the ring. You can also be assured that he will never be saying these things before a fight again - that is if he can fight again. I will punish him for these stupid comments!”
Miranda now lives and trains in Puerto Rico and is very excited to be fighting in his hometown. “I am very thrilled to put on a show for all my friends in Puerto Rico. They have been very good to me since I chose to live here in 2005, and I will pay them back by making it an exciting fight. However I advise you to put your children to sleep early. Don’t let them watch this fight. With Green’s lack of defense, he is going to get brutally beat up and I don’t want the young children to be traumatized.”
Pantera will be fighting on the undercard of Miguel Cotto as he defends his WBA welterweight title against Oktay Urkal. The fight will take place at Coliseo Roberto Clemente and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing at 9:45 PM ET on March 3rd. Miranda’s promoters, Warriors Boxing and Main Events, would like to thank Top Rank for making this fight possible.

Green still hasnt fought anybody close to the level of who Miranda has fought in his last few fights. He has been handled very carefully. Hes been in with guys who are either prospects like him or journeyman. So he seems to be the guy with the greater chance of being exposed.
Anyway, I think Miranda will knock him out. I hope its a hell of a fight while it lasts.
This fight will be explosive while it lasts. I'm leaning towards Miranda though. He's faced better opposition & fought through some adversity in his last couple of fights at the world class level. Green's best wins are against prospects & he's looked suspect in a few of those fights. My guess is Miranda can weather the storm if he gets rocked like he's done recently, but if Miranda catches Green he's going to be visiting the Sandman.
I think I like Miranda to win this fight. Miranda has the better chin, better KO % and although they both claim devastating knockout wins over some opponents, Miranda is more consistant with his devastation. The fight still is 50/50 on who lands first though I think Miranda will hold up and Green will fold.
This isn't the type of fight where talking trash gets them more money. We're not talking about Pay-per-view. I think Green genuinely ran his mouth and now Miranda is pissed. That should make it a better fight.
I definetly agree. AND its an undercard fight. These guys seem to genuinly hate eachother, which 9 times out of 10, makes for a very passionate fight.
Green said all this crap before the CODRINGTON fight, and it was over in 18 seconds.
Regardless of who wins, this is an important fight to see how the future of the divison looks.
Lol. thats a great quote. I'm really looking forward to this fight. The best UNDERCARD fight all year.
It should steal the show for sure.
Im looking forward to multiple KD's, and the guy with the most heart comin out on top

im not crazy about either guy, i think theyre both disappointments waiting to happen...
whoever lands first will win this cause neither guy can take the other ones best punch....
but ill go with miranda just based on the fact that donnie mccray hurt green so bad im not sure he can handle even a half ass glancing punch like the one that knocked out willie gibbs
really? why???
I predict in 2 years tops, these guys are gonna be ruling the division.
And its one of the best Middleweight divisions in a while. PAVLIK looks great. MIRANDA and GREEN look awsome and are both very exciting. Tons of very young prospects that will be big in a year or two. Im very excited

I agree hitman. Miranda and Froch are the two currently hyped punches who will likely be badly outboxed in the next year. But both are fun to watch, and Miranda just might put on a show in his upcoming fight that we wouldn't want kids to see.
Extra points to MIranda for innovative trash talk.
I love Miranda......I do like Green to generally but not in this one.I hope it is a good fight but I really do see Miranda stopping him early.......He is just so intense and Green has not really been in any big fights and can appear too relaxed at least to me especially early......If the fight goes past 3 or 4 rounds I see it being very interesting tho.
I like this little rivalry. Feels old school. A fight you never expected between two young stars in boxing both with power advantages and shakey chins, but a lot of determination and heart.
Just going in and making the fight. Good for boxing.
A little trash talk doesn't hurt either.
