Every pro busts their ass all day, every day. They run miles, lift weights, shadowbox, hit all sorts of bags, do circuit training, sparring, and push themselves to the max.....if they want to be the best.
I would never agree with the saying "You don't have to work hard". But people definately need to understand "overtraining" and "training smart". It is definately possible to get more out of a two hour training session that another might get out of a four hour session.
I've found that getting in proper shape for a four round amateur bout takes a huge amount of dedication, I wouldn't want to imagine what the top pros have to do through to get ready for a 12 rounder, but there is definately right ways to train and wrong ways to train.
That crazy grunting guy is looking for some serious training injuries, especially in his shoulders and lower back. It looks impressive but there are definitely smarter ways to train to get the same, or even better, results.
Overtraining does exist though, the prime example of overtraining would be vitaly, all of his injuries come from overtraining in specific training fields.
Human body, does not matter how gifted, can only go so far, and even if a mind can go further, sometimes(in fact many times) the body just does not quite get there.

He was in kickboxing and received most of his injuries through the punishment taken and given there.

Zoo used to spent two hours in the ring working on strenght training before he got to shadow boxing and the rest of his boxing routine, some work that hard.
Well that is also probably what got him into trouble once he got into
his 30's. The body naturally declines with age. Add age, plus the wear and tear of his career, and you've got BACK TO BACK serious injuries.
There is only so much the body can take before it breaks.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kostya actually over-trained quite a number of times, especially when he got older.
The stuff Ross does is at least as hardcore as this guy, with none of the plain silly exercises or the gayness...
Also, the dude's punches are fuckin' SLOW.
