What Cotto did do was bad enough though. Bad enough that when Malignaggi first saw himself on a TV monitor at ringside after the fight he couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe anyone had done that to him and couldn't believe someone had and still been unable to get rid of him.
I pride myself on my looks,'' Malignaggi (25-1, 5 KO) said. "I didn't like what happened. After the (plastic) surgery, the muscles in my face had to get reacquainted with themselves and the titanium plate they put underneath my eye, where the orbital bone got shattered. I didn't look right. My smile was lopsided and I was thinking, 'Oh, no, am I always going to look like this? That's not my face.' That made me so mad. But after a couple of months things came back and now I look pretty much the same as I always did.
Cotto is a fucking beast
I think Cotto is best puncher pound for pound in boxing right now.
his face was mash-up as he mentions. he also broke his hip and his ass. damn he must have been in pain, but u gta givr it to him still trying to fight on. he has guts.
mosley-cotto would be an amazing match but i would also give mosley the edge. he took punches from dlh, forrest, vargas so i dont think cottos power alone will win it for him. i think mosley will take it but will cotto be able to take what mosley gives out? not sure
i see this fight action going quite similar to mosley-vargas 2, mosley will hit cotto wit hard jabs while hes crouching and set up big rights and left hooks.
I think Mosley vs Cotto would be pretty much like Mosley-Vargas 1.
Shane could take all of Vargas shots who, because of size, punches harder than Cotto, and the ones that say Cotto is a great body puncher and thats how he will beat Shane, have to really watch some Vargas fights and see the tremendous body puncher he is... i dont like Vargas's personality very much, but the guy used to fight superbly, at least against Winky(though i thought Wink won, i still think this was Vargas's best fight), Quartey, De la Hoya and Mosley 1 and Tito(before Tito broke his nuts)...
I dont think Cotto can take a flush shot of Mosley, so i think Shane would stop Cotto in 10...
im not a cotto hater, in fact he's one of my top ten favourite fighters but Shane would beat him.
Mosely has shown in the past that he doesn't fare well to fighters who puts pressure on him. Cotto would not sit back & let Mosley have his way the way Collazo did. The jab & body shots will slow down Mosely.
So long as "Sugar" Shane doesn't show any advanced signs of aging in the next few months, maybe we'll see this fight really happen.
I think Shane Mosley would dominate Cotto in almost the same fashion he dominated Collazo. I doubt Cotto would get anymore than 4 rounds. A slick boxer knows how to avoid his opponet's best punch and make him look foolish. I can see Mosley doing this to Cotto.

Cotto is a devestating puncher, that's without question. I just want to see him step it up against serious opposition and then see what happens. Cotto is a good fighter with a lot of heart and power, but I think a really skilled boxer will have a picnic with him.
A skilled boxer would have his way with him till maybe the late 2nd or 3rd round until Cotto figures him out. After that here comes the body shots that will open up the head shots or vice versa and down goes ______. IMO, Cotto's a better boxer than what people give him credit for.

That's what happens when you stand in front of a puncher.
