I just found out that In Jin Chi the WBC Featherweight champ is my distant nephew. I have been fan of boxing for 12 years now and hardcore fan for 5 years (im only 25), and i havent seen any of his fights. Do you guys know if he is any good?
i like his fighting style. so the guy is really your distant nephew? can you explain when/how/why you found out?
my father told me over the dinner 2 days ago. i told him that only korean world champ In Jin Chi were gonna fight PAC and he told me that his cousin's grandson was that man.
my dad's girl cousin's daughter's son = In Jin Chi. My dad is 70 years old.

HONESTLY!? Ur only 25 and ur his uncle, how olds Chi then?
Anyway he is a fuckin animal! Beat the shit out of Eric Morales thats all u need to know! His 1st fight with Micheal Brodie was immense! He lacks skills but is ROCK solid powerfull, full of heart and has great stamina, get in touch with him! :biggthump
The initial draw was ridiculous, it was yet another scoring error from wbc appointed judges that prevented chi from getting the victory he deserved. I'll try and get you a link for the second fight, chi turned in a brilliant performance that night.
Yeah only just though, and if it hadn't been for that ridiculous WBC rule about fighters losing a point for accidental clashes of head then Brodie would have deserved his draw. That was an unbelievable fight, in my opinion up there with Morales/Barrera 1, Moore/Macklin, Castillo/Coralles 1 and Gomez/Arthur. It's a real shame Brodie never won a world title, he was a class act and should have won the WBC super bantamweight belt against Willie Jorin but got robbed in his home town!!!
I havent seen Injin box but because Brodie took him too a draw i imagined that Chi couldnt have been that good, although like all Korean boxers i imagined he was as tough as nails.

In Jin Chi is damn near around 35, Eyelove, In Jin Chi's distant "Uncle", is 25.....that's got to be a helluva family tree.....branch's curving back upwards and sh!t.
not a big deal, its very common in the Philippines, and i guess the whole of Asia....

Seems strange, but it can happen. I come from a big family. For example, my mothers side has 12 children with 20 year difference between eldest and youngest child (w/ my mother being second youngest). So I have first cousins who are in their 40's-50's, and they have children who are not much younger than me. They call me "Uncle"...haha. Then you get into 2nd and 3rd removed relatives...crazy stuff.

i think the fight is more than delayed ... it was shelved ...
too bad it would have been a big fight in Asia ... and a lot of attention from the west will also be focused on it cuz both guys are entertaining exciting fighters...
Yeah I liked his fight with morales he is said to talk alot of shit inside the ring, Outside who knows?, He claims he uses alot of things he would use in street fight's. I really wanted him to fight in Macau v.s Pacquiao, It probably would of been a nice slugfest but what are you gonna do. :nonono:
it would have been the biggest payday for a korean fighter if PAC would have fought him. but i heard somewhere that pac vs in jin chi was delaid to some other day...

he is the only current korean to hold the "WORLD TITLE", Im very proud of that... i haven't had a chance to see his fights yet. i guess i need to go into youtube and look around.
I'd say he's a better fighter than Mickey Ward
yeah man, i was only speaking that he reminds me of a micky ward kind of throwback fighter. very tough.
he's one of my faves to watch. always entertaining.
and to answer the main question posed: yeas, i'd say he's a good fighter. i have a few of his fights on tape.
injin chi. hmm, what to say about him.
not the best technical fighter by any means, but he has an enourmous amount of guts. loves to stand and trade without a care for what his opponent is throwing back at him.
love watching him fight. a very entertaining, micky ward style boxer/brawler.

Seriously?!
Yeah he's a decent fighter. I saw him in action over here destroying Michael Brodie, and I met him briefly before the fight when he came and walked around the arena. Nice guy. High workrate, decent punch power, granite chin. Pretty rugged, strong. A good fighter, it was a shame he didnt get the pac fight
