Pavlik vs Calzaghe=FOTY

This thread is just silly. Bingo. Pavlik is a good fighter. And very hittable. Calzaghe would whoop his ass. Period.

Calzaghe is way too quick and too skilled.. He will make Pavlik look like a drunk pub fighter Pavlik leaves himself open too much.. and Calaghe won't be hitting him with wild shots (which landed plenty tonight) These guys are just NOT on the same level... not even close Thank you. It would not be like the Lacy fight because chances are Pavlik couldn't live through that kind of beating.

Wouldn't that be great? no, calzaghe is far too complete of a fighter for pavlik, it would be a slaughter, pavlik has a lot of growing still and as far as hand speed, pavlik will never have hand speed as fast as joes hands, not to be harsh to pavlik but it's the truth. pavlik needs a lot more experience to step in the ring with joe, and by the time he is ready joe will probably be leaving the sport.

Yeh im a Calzaghe fan,but ever since the Lacy fight alot of people think he could beat anyone out there,Lacy was one dimensional,Kelly knows how to box on the outside and can hit very hard,and Joe often gets catched because he keeps his hands low,Joe wouldent take it,too risky

Pavlik might be heavy handed, but he's too slow. Calzaghe's hands will be too quick for Kelly to handle. Zertuche, although not one to be described as speedy was getting his lumps in and was actually competitive for a few rounds. Like the Lacy fight, this should be an easy night for Joe. no... kelly is technically better than lacy, and can box well on the outside. he would have to get used to blow's speed, but the zertuche fight showed pavlik can make adjustments during the fight

Joe wont take this fight to high of a risk with little reward i agree with you, joe might not take this fight, however, if this fight happens now, i'd go for calzaghe, if it happens in 2009 however, i'd go for pavlik, pavlik is a tall rangy middleweight at 6'3 would definitely give some problems to calzaghe, but i still think he lacks the experience to defeat a grizzled undefeated champion in the form of joe calzaghe as of now, calzaghe by unanimous decision.
