Amateur wins frequently lead to pro title shots. Don't believe anyone who tells you that after amateur success, you turn pro by fighting other unestablished fighters, continue that for 10-15 fights, then move on to journeymen, fringe contenders, contenders, and THEN, if you've won al or almost all those fights, you get a shot. That's hogwash. If you beat another amateur who's never turned pro, you get a shot at the heavyweight title. Even if you're a middleweight.
Just don't ask me who Alexei Lezin is. I heard though, that he is a super secret top 5 fighter, you know, the one that no one knows about.
Lezin was a good amateur who was very technical but had no punch and could not take a punch. This is the reason he did not turn pro.
