What Hatton said about Cotto (after Phillips fight)

If it ever happens, it'll happen at 147 and I feel that Cotto would win.

Cotto is fantastic, very talented, very hard-hitting, very tough. He isn't without his weaknesses, he likes to be able to pick a pace and looks uncomfortable when he isn't able to. I had him winning by a long way round for round against Malignaggi but all the rounds were close, even with Malignaggi fighting with a broken orbital and a patch where some of his hair gel fell off. It wasn't a comfortable night for Cotto, and he would have been in trouble if Malignaggi could punch. Hatton too has his weaknesses of course. I think at 140 this would have been a Hatton win by a landslide, at 147 Cotto has the edge and it's definitely pick 'em if they fought at a catchweight of, say, 144 lbs.

Cotto will beat Tony. That's for sure. I can't wait for this fight to come! As for Hatton i don't think they will ever fight unless Hatton moves up to 147 and fights him.

To be honest i havent seen much of Miguel Cotto. I will have to google him up. But the magazines like Ring havent got him in their p4p yet have they? Cotto is one of favourite fighters, but some people are getting to excited. His true test will be against Margarito. One thing that impresses me about Cotto is that he stops almost everyone aswell! The kid is officially on my P4P List and high! Cotto made my top 10 after the thrashing of Quintana, but he shouldn't be above 8 or 9 until he wins some bigger stakes fights. If he destroys Margarito, you can bet he's a solid top 7 candidate. Hatton vs Cotto is yet another of those very interesting battles around that weight. I'd favour Hatton just off personal preference, but it could easily go either way. Each could quite likely knock out the other comfortably and early, but anyone who considers that to be a forgone conclusion one way or the other dont have a particularly realistic view of the fight. On paper, its very close.

While Cotto should be the slight favorite right now, I don't see this being all that obvious. I see Cotto doing what Urango did in the fifth round, but for the WHOLE FIGHT- or as long as it lasts.

Cotto said the same thing on a short documentery thing i watched on him, he said the fight he wants most is Ricky Hatton and he knows how to beat him and that he respected him. Im a Huge fan of both but cum on fellas Cotto would beat Ricky shitless, No doubt in my mind what so ever! The guy has it all! (Including a chin!)
