Hatton advised to cut down!
http://www.fightnews.com/hatton_vegas5.jpgUnbeaten IBF junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton has been advised by friend and former world champion Wayne McCullough to alter his lifestyle. "The Hitman" admittedly balloned to 180lbs before his bout with Juan Urango and he is known to enjoy drinking beer with his friends. "Nobody's saying he can't drink," McCullough told the BBC. "But it's up to him to say 'I'm getting older, maybe it's time to cut down'.....to put 10lbs or so on is pretty normal, but when you go any higher it makes it harder. But that's Ricky Hatton. He goes to the bar and drinks with the boys. So far he's been getting away with it and it's his choice." As for Hatton's next opponent, Jose Luis Castillo, McCullough was even less flattering. "I think probably shot. He's had a lot of tough fights, he's not a big guy and I think Ricky beats him easy." (Photo: Mary Ann Owen)
if he does stay in shape between now and the castillo fight then his legs wont go in the last couple of rounds like they did against urango and this spells trouble for castillo.
He should do whatever he wants in between fights as long as it doesn't effect his performance...once it does he needs work on not ballooning so much.
McCullough is right on the money with this comment. This is what I've been saying for weeks. Hatton deserves no credit for beating this version of Castillo that struggled with a prospect like Ngoudjo. This is just another in a 42-fight-long series of handpicked fights...
Nothing to do with the fact that the fight was organised prior to Castillo struggling with ¨a prospect like Ngoudjo¨?
One minute Castillo knocks him out next minute he is shot and Hatton is fighting poor opposition again...
hatton is just one of many fighters who balloon between fights ( inc all time greats like duran & lamotta )...i like the fact that hattons a regular guy..likes to hang out with his mates in his local pub in manchester drinking a few pints of whats good for ya...good for you rick..now cream castillo this summer and i`ll be smiling :)

????? He beat the guy that had the belts...his belts...That's not hand picking fights that claiming whats rightfully yours...you think..Casitillo struggle against a nobody while hatton beat the shit out of the CHAMP...big difference playa..
blah blah blah
Castillo's not shot. He always looks poor in smaller fights then brings it in bigger fights.
Kostya Tszyu wasnt shot, Luis Collazo wasnt shot, Eamon Magee wasnt shot, Ben Tackie wasnt shot, Juan Urango wasnt shot and they were all tough fights. Do something else apart from slate Hatton!!!!!
Tszyu for one was coming from an operation, shoulder disloaction, yes he hand a great win over Sharmba Mitchelle but once he fough Hatton in Hatton clinchs really effected him because they guy is abit old and was coming form an operation and saying he wasnt shot that you must be lieing to youself.
