Chagaev to get title shot by April!
The WBA has ruled that the winner of Saturday's Nikolai Valuev-Jameel McCline WBA heavyweight title bout bout in Basel, Switzerland, is required to fight mandatory contender Ruslan Chagaev by April 15 in their next bout (unless another date is mutually agreed to). If bout contracts between the winner and Chagaev are not received by the WBA by February 9, the WBA Championships Committee will issue a purse bid announcement.
McLine definately has a good shot at beating Valuev, if he is confident. If he fights the whole fight scared to death, like against Klitschko, he won't win. McLine is a very good athletic specimen, just doesn't have the confidence or amateur background, but then Valuev doesn't really either so Mcline could win it.
Im not sure that left hand of his is enough.
Maybe if he lands them enough...
Sneaky Rangy Southpaw....
Although....doesnt value-size have a decent straight right?
and Chagaev is who...? in his defense, he does have a good win over Ruiz, which I don't think anyone on the planet watched, but a win is a win and I didn't hear anybody claiming robbery.
If Mccline defeats Valuev and wins the WBA, I will consider Mccline to be a more legit champ than Briggs is. Mccline already schooled Briggs for ten rounds, knocking him down in the process.
His size is underestimated, if a fighter has a good gameplan and sticks to it and is not bullied by his size on fight night they can win the fight but thats not going to happen easy...

Id luv to see Ape Lord Valuev get his ass handed to him but i dont see either McCline or Chagaev being the ones to do it. I think only a couple of fighters like Wlad and Peter could pull it off, sad really!
Chagaev is a pretty good fighter but Valuev is underestimated IMO, he's definitely not a walk in the park. It would be an interesting fight though, at least Chagaev will not be walking around throwing 5 punches/round.
It seems like with every fight the competition is getting tougher and tougher...
Valuev did get away with a victory over Ruiz... but as the fights are now happening in US.. gifts will be coming to an end.
BTW.. I don't think the Chagaev fight will be in US either.
