I think there is a certain fighter that's a FUCKING hype.
I'm sure others feel the same about a particular fighter.
Who is the most OVERHYPED fighter in the game today???
When I read this topic Paul Williams immediately sprung to mind but I'm surprised how many people feel the same way. I thought most Americans could see something in him that I couldn't, maybe not.
awww is the Margarito fan jealous? poor little idiot
I'm not even a Margarito fan you twit.
I just get annoyed by the Floyd ball grabbers like you.

"Brit"?
It's weird how Yankees get to slate Floyd without having their nationality thrown in their face, huh?
DeigoFucko - a silly little boy who's trolling this thread to look for arguments. Little prick boy.
Let's remind ourselves of Fucko's wisdom:
"Floyd is better than Sugar Ray Robinson as SRR never UD'd Carlos Baldomir".
"Anyone who thought Lacy wasn't a world beater after seeing a shot to fuck Scott Pemberton take a dive against him must be a homer who doesn't know boxing."
What a wise little boy you are.
thanks for the attention, grandpa :boxing:
Not jus to bump my own shit - but part of the reason I started this one was to see what the folks thought.
Clearly, it's Margarito by a landslide.
Too bad we have nothing to give him. He did win this convincingly..
I'm not sure if the poll results are accurate.
And I don't have a bias view in either direction, so I will lay it as I see it...
I could guarantee that EVERY SINGLE PBF fan on this forum voted for Margarito as the "Hype"
Why? Because this is what Floyed haters have been preaching for years that PBF is ducking him.
And based on his last performance, in PBS' defense, they have to show that Margarito is nothing but Hype... this would explain the large volume of votes.
This is just my own opinion and I could be wrong of course.
In my opinion, I think that Paul WIlliams is extremely over hyped at this point in his career. Not to say that he doesn't have all the potential in the world and he won't be great but at this point in his career he hasn't foguth anyone for him to be hyped the way he is. I think a lot of people have jumped on the band wagon and hyped him before he has really proven himself.
My choice exactly! He is also one of the most protected fighters in the game today.Although I agree,he may turn out to be a really good fighter.Time will tell.
Fraud Gayleather. Anyone who can fight THAT level of competition for the last four years and still be considered legible for P4P No.1 is seriously hyped.
All these Amigos and little Pac are fighting the best out there, but Fraud gets a meal ticket for the likes of Gatti?
Jealousy will consume you, Brit

At this point I think it's safe to say it's Floyd.
I have always liked the guy and always thought he was yeah probably the best fighter, but now it's getting pretty pathetic.
I remember reading someone talking about how they think he could give Jermaine Taylor a run for his money and maybe capture the Middleweight title. Most retarded thing in the history of statements.
awww is the Margarito fan jealous? poor little idiot
Out or your list I said Margarito and Taylor. I was almost gonna put Hatton though I still feel Hatton can prove us all once he fights a huge opponent here. I'm not saying he'll win, though we'll find out what he's really made of. I don't use that Tszyu fight as a measuring stick by any means because it didn't really say much. It was a hit and hold fight that he coulda lost had it not been Tszyu retired on the stool. BTW-Anyone got the judges score cards up to that point? Curious if it was completely 1 sided or not.

all scores were for hatton, i had him ahead by one round.
I guess I could go for some HWs...
Briggs, Brewster, Peter..... OVERhyped
On the other hand, guys like Maskaev and Valuev are underated.
I really don't mean for it to be racial (in case someone noticed) but No one expects Maskaev to win his next fight.. same goes for Valuev... people are saying that it's just a matter of time.
Gatti - I think everyone on that list, with the exception of Gatti is an elite fighter...
So I dont think Gatti belongs on the same list with them.
Margarito - I don't think he is hype at all. Only reason he is getting love is from Floyd haters. So I would get him out too.
The rest have sure earned their reputation.. so I don't know who to vote for :dunno:
amir khan is the most overhyped upcoming fighter. the guy is goin to get his head knocked off as soon as he fights someone world class or even european
I cast my vote on other for Williams. Like the others mentioned, he has tremendous potential, but a victory over Mitchell doesn't make him a worldbeater. That being said, I look forward to seeing him fight.
I thought about voting for Gatti, but I don't think Gatti has ever really been hyped as anything more than a great show. In that vein, he is not overrated. When you watch his fights you understand that he is going out on his shield, or is going to do his best to put his opponent on his.
