It's alot more fun to see a "prospect" get owned than it is to jump on the bandwagon, in my opinion. Take for example, those cocky idiots, Jaidon Codrington & Curtis Stevens who act like they're world champs when all they do is fight bums. Pretty funny seeing them both get stopped.
Also, Jeff Lacy comes to mind, although he is/was a little more far gone, I still found the Calzaghe fight hilarious, and the Tsypko rematch, the result of that fight had me in stitches.
I agree he is my favorite prospect also.
ya Ortiz is pretty good, he recently sparred with Vanes and did ok for a smaller guy, he got dropped once though :D
after that session, they decided no more sparring with VANES cuz he was a bit much in size for Victor Ortiz i guess.
I definatly like the Dirrell brothers, although Anthony seems to be off to a better start thus far as a pro. Also, Jonathon Banks impressed me alot when he got off the canvas twice in the first round to KO former Wlad. Klitschko opponent Eliseo Castillo in the 4th, in just his 12th pro fight.
He's probably going to be exposed whenever he steps up, but I've been a fan of Allan Green since the Codrington decimation. His fights are always fun. Him being knocked down by Donnie McCrary is one of my favorite moments in boxing history too despite being a fan. Tessitore's call was just the stuff of legends.
my favorite prospect is Berto, but im gonna put another prospect that hasnt been mentioned, he is not the best, but i like the way he fights:
WALTER "TWO GUNS" WRIGHT
13-2 (7 KO's)
Alternate for 2000 U.S. Olympic boxing team, won 90 of 102 amateur fights, including a win over Andre Berto.
Runner-up in the 2001 US Championship in the light middleweight division(he defeated berto to get in the final but then lost to Sechew Powell)
He was considered the third best american light middleweight amateur before turning pro
Theirs a new young Mexican Prospect fighting at welterweight his name is Julio Ceasar garcia He's 6" With a record of 39W 2L with 33Ko's and the best part is that he's only 19 years old, Keep in eye out for this young prospect.
Damn, that guy does have a hell of a resume for just 19, looks like he went pro just 5 days after his 15th birthday. Apparently he'll be fightin in NY on 2/16 against a 23-1 (15) Joe Wyatt, should be a good test. Would be nice if it gets televised.
Joshua Green.
He's a 6'6'' Cruiserweight, who just drawed 1/12/07.. He is very tall and thin, so he could easily make the move up to Heavyweight, and probably will in the future. He only had 8 Ameatuer fights and is still pretty rough, but once he gets more ring experience he could be pretty good, because he has natural talent and size.
By the way I don't rate Khan, Diaz or Williams as Prospects so they aren't on my list.
that is the guy that roberto duran is managing/training correct???
my top prosepct is johnathon banks, he is the best young american heavyweight prospect even though he is cuurently fighting as a cruiser
A 19-year old with 40 fights?!
Yea your right he's promoted by Duran. He has 40 fights at the age of 19 because he turned pro at the age of 15.:boxing:
