I haven't seen as many as I'd like.
The biggest fight I went to was Hopkins vs. De La Hoya.
Good time, anti-climactic ending..
That was a sight to see.
(Fight night hoochies are something to boggle the mind.)
What fights have you witnessed in the FLESH?
Mr. Lyons I've seen you before on TV.
It's an honor to have you on the thread.
Thank you very much my friend, I enjoy posting here, I do not post anywhere else, this is home for me too.
I love the sport, and the fans are great, it is an honor for me to introduce the fighters, I try to give each fighter the best intro he or she has ever had. To me, the job I have is a time honored tradition in the sport and I hope the fans enjoy my work, but it's about the fighters, I am just a small part of the show...
Indeed I am my friend, have been for almost a decade and a half. It's a cool gig, best seat in the house, I am in the ring and I don't get hit! lol
Nice! That's great shit.
The annoucer's are the link between the fans and the outcome.
They start the show and close the curtain.
God Bless em'.
Yeah, Joe sends it up to me whenever it goes to the cards, I can hear him in my ear, he also went up to me after Lamont Petersons' fight went the distance. Joe always says "For the official scores lets go up to our Ring Announcer JD Lyons". Then the director says "3-2-1- Go JD"...

check out UBCboxing.com, me and Marcus have the same trainer, he is the real deal, fighters are backing out of fights with him most of the guys on his record are last minute replacements. he is 6-0 6 ko's and is a BIG Lightheavyweight
Looked him up on boxrec, the KO record looks impressive, but he hasn't fought anybody, the best record of anyone he has fought is just 2-4-0. The rest have all been 1-4-0 so I can't say if he has a future. I will keep an eye out for him though, if he fights some better competition I will send for some film on him. I realize they are "building" his record right now, it's what his manager is supposed to do, but hey, you never know, I may just recommend him for a match in the next year or so...
No, sorry, never been to Kansas for a show, and don't know of Marcus either I am afraid, what's his pro record? weight division?

You got some TV time last Friday, didn't you?

I couldn't tell you Neils, I never get to see the show, I am always in the ring!
I can hear everything being said in my ear monitor, from the director to Teddy and Joe, and what they are saying on air and everything being said in the studio at ESPN headquarters during the show, but I can't see what is going out to the satellite feed. I just have to look for which camera has the red light on, and listen for the director to give me a countdown to go up to me. It's a bit tricky to be able to listen to the director and everyone else too and still be able to read the scores and speak to the audience all at once with all the voices in your ear ! lol
