people are gonna be mad when they hear the truth
becuz they might misunderstand what it means
ROY JONES!!!!!!
thats not to say that he was better than ali
he simply had better reflexes
meaning he saw punches comin easier and slipped punches better
this does not mean roy was better than ali
ali was a more complete fighter
with greater skill
but when it comes to reflexes
jones takes it
How anyone can think otherwise is beyond me.
I still think Ali had better reflexes. I know what people are saying about Ali being a more complete fighter but Jones having the best reflexes, but if you watch earlier Ali fights, like against Liston, Moore, Patterson and Chuvalo the guy's reflexes are crazy. But I can see why people are picking Jones, in his prime he was crazy. So quick and elusive - and powerful until he got too cautious

Jones I'd say. He was fighting in weightclasses where the average opponent he faced was quicker than most of the guys Ali fought so of course he isn't going to have the same advantages Ali had who was freakishly quick for a heavyweight.
Also Jones revealed his chin to be less than solid when he slowed down, but it didn't matter in his best days because his reflexes were that good. Jones losing a round in his prime was an uncommon sight while Ali had close fights at all stage of his career.
Jones had amazing reflexes, some of the best I've seen on film.
Have to agree.
I'm going to have to disagree with most of the posts and say Ali. He showed great reflexes against Frazier, Dokes, Foreman to an extent, Liston, Norton, etc. Jones Jr had some incredible reflexes as well but I think its just below of Ali.
no no no. i mean reflexes. that video of him vs. dokes is what got me thinking,i mean ive seen him with great reflexes before but this was an out of prime ali making some1 throwing more then 10punches ina row miss all of them in a matter of 5sec.
Doesnt matter, the fact still remains, in my book, that his defense was largely based upon footwork and floating out of range, with decent movement and comparatively little head movement.
Jones used performance-enhancing drugs.
But still, it's him. Guy was insane.
they finally cracked down in boxing and look how toney jones mosely and klitschko shrunk
Of all the footage I have seen of Ali, I never really saw him use reflexes the same way Jones always did.
Dont get dancing, countering and dominating confused with reflexes.

Handspeed and reflexes. I know weight plays a part in quickness but you could put them both at the same weight and I think Jones will still be quicker.
damn i dunno. i gota watch the ruiz fight again to give u a better answer
what r u talking about reflex or handspeed? but ne way jones came in at.(taking a guess) 205 for ruiz. doesnt ali come in around 215-220

Even Jones at heavyweight was faster than Ali in my opinion.

but remember the bigger u r the more weight u have to shift. and ali was more then 30lbs bigger then jones
