...would Sylvester Stallone be back?
They said he wasn't on Season 2 because he was filiming Rocky 36. But now that he's done with that, will he return?
Absolutely. But they better actually throw punches, and not just stand around.
Techniclly they dont even have too, one solid minute of action per round will be enough for them to make it seem extremly exciting.
If they did the heavyweights that would be a huge boost to that division, and therefore to all of boxing. They definately might have to look overseas for some talent though. I was thinking of going to a casting call for the Contender. I wouldn't have even a remote chance of making it (I'm not even a professional fighter) but I think it would be a lot of fun to observe.
They need some real unknowns, I mean in the second season they had guys on there who had titles shots, I think even one of them used to be a title holder.
I think they should really look for up and coming prospects, real fighters looking for a second shot, and unknowns.
They looked for fighters with good records and experience in season 2. I want to see freaking Rocky out there or some crap, I guy wiht like 15 losses but young enough to still make a run...
Maybe that doesn't happen in real life, but it should.
Make the show 15 minutes longer and show the actual fight. It was fine the first season. The second season it bothered the hell out of me.
I couldn't watch season 2 that much.
If they go with Heavy's sounds new, sounds good.
I'm sure they would have done that initially if there was a talent pool.
Hopefully they do look abroad or whatever's necsessary..
I forgot were I heard it. There is talk about the next contendor being an international thing. Maybe usa vs europe or something. And if that's the case I don't see them useing anything less than 160 + lbs fighters.
joe calzaghe is gonna be one of them, kessler better get on the show so they can fight

That is why I wanted Walter Wright to win the 2nd contender...he is young and actually a prospect, not to mention exciting as a fighter. I do not believe they should do heavyweights because if anyone here has seen any undercard heavyweight fights (not to mention main event), they are always a bore-fest and will equal low ratings and frustration. I'd like to see cruiserweight, since that division is horribly weak right now and could use some new faces and activity, but if worse comes to worse i guess heavyweights as well barring the aforementioned problem.
EXTRA NOTE: Walter Wright and Cornelius "K-9" Bundrage are fighting (not each other) on the contender card in Washington this friday.
No matter what division they choose, they had better put in a lot of talented YOUNG prospects, and a few crafty vets.
Mora and Manfredo are now big draws in the sport because of the contender... Forbes and Brewer will NOT be because they are boring and old. The prospect of a great career is already over for them.
The show the Contender is "okay" at best. But whats really great about the show is that they follow the guys after the contender. And thats really cool, especially when its a very talented young prospect
