I mean, what is this bullshit? The guy talks about he had this and that wrong when he fought Manny, yet he's completely avoided and dodged him for 3 years+ years, and now he has a great chance to face him and decides to take on Marquez? Don't tell me it's Manny's promotional issues because GBP clearly says it's the fighters who are in charge. Yeah well if they were, Barrera would have asked for Manny and they would have gotten him Manny. Arum was ready to get the deal signed so it wasn't a problem on Manny's side. Let's face it, Barrera wants nothing more of Manny and something he did say after the fight aside fromt he excuses was correct. He fought a younger, hungry, and strong opponent. Nothing he could do that would have changed that night, and now I think it's too late to ever regain that loss against Manny. :cop:
Haha! No wonder it's taking you some time to reply. Nice talnking to you bro and to you too adrsan84 and to you too psychopath. Happy New Year to all!!!!!
Happy new years to you 2. Good to know that there are still people on here who will have a conversation with people and not label them nuthuggers or hatters. Much respect to all you guys who were part of this conversation. Ill be looking for your guys post.
Okay, but what about the risk of career ending defeat. Marquez maybe slowing down but he is still a great fighter that may give marco a permanent damage. The probability of not being able to fight pac after this one, because some reason or another, is big.
You can also look at this way.(I give marco little chance againts both fighters but will cheer for him no matter what) if he beats jmm he can say I beat jmm, pacman couldn't do it, and many other fighers couldn't with out help from judges that is.
So untill he fights pac, he could have that great win that might later on down the road twords end of year a win over jmm could earn him the bigger cut againts pac.
If pac doesn't fight anybody big of course. If mab beats jmm, pac would have to beat guzman or a good fighter to get an equal share
God damn it can't keep up with you guys. I'm on a sidekick phone so I fall pages behind.
I hope boom boom wins. I like seeing him fight

Bro in my case, I don't have doubt on Bautista's fighting style it's more of his fighting heart that needs to be tested. And we will surely see that on this fight.
I agree he has an impressive style, i like it, but i'm not sure it's the right style to face Ponce de Leon with. I think he would have to show quite some boxing skills to pull it out and not get lured into big exchanges, and that's dangerous for a young and untested fighter. It's kind of like being the best swimmer in the kiddie pool and then being tossed in the deep end, some don't get drowned but those are the rea talented ones.
I've sen very little of those two guys, but they sure are taking a step up in class, especially Gorres, let's see if they're ready. I think Ponce de Leon is much more beatable though, but I don't know if Bautista has the style to do it.What I want to assure you is that both are world class fighters. Gorres can box and he likes mixing it up but he lacks power. Bautista is a powerful bodypuncher but his chin is still suspect and we all know that daniel is a very powerful puncher. But as you said ponce de leon is beatable and I hope bautista knows how.
Its not exactly low reward, the undercard is going to get some buys on its own. See him takeing a higher percent witch I'm sure he is getting over jmm will look better because he can say I got 60% instead of 40%.
Sure the money amount will be better with the lower percent pac fight. But when he gets what ever percent he will get againts jmm he can say look I'm the draw. These people are here to see me. Like I said its the principle of getting the percent he thinks he deserves, not the actual money amount itselfOkay, but what about the risk of career ending defeat. Am planning to watch the fight live bro. Just hope that hoya won't make this a bargaining leverage to behest pac to sign with GBP. Am not giving peñalosa much o a chance but I think goress and bautista has a chance.

I agree that he could have done that, but i won't blame him for taking on Marquez which will be a very difficult fight for him. I just think that he feels he can beat Marquez and Pacquaio will still be there, (although maybe still unavailable) or else he would try to get that career sealing Pacquiao (financially and either done due to a loss or redemption) fight now.As I said earlier, going against marquez is a low reward/high risk fight for marco. Juan manuel is a very dangerous fighter and I think that even if he has lost some step or two in his last fight against jaca, he's still one of the best technical fighters around. I believe that pacman will fight marco given the correct circumstances but that time may not be now. Who knows the court may rule in favor of hoya and fans will be treated with a good news this month.
That's exactly my point, if marco would be receiving more money against pac and would have the chance to redeem himself, why in the world would he fight a low reward/high risk against marquez?

The reason why I said it is unpopular among us pacfans. On the other hand, marco also made a very bad decision of going against marquez. He could have shown hoya who the boss is , twist his arm and ask him to give him pacman. Going against pac is the more profitable and honor redeeming fight for him.

It's alright bro, I'm kidding to lighten up the mood. We can have a good conversation here even if we are on different sides of the fence. Happy New Year BTW!!!!

Financially in the long run that's to be seen, he could have very well made the right decision, but in the short run from a fan's perspective he made the completely wrong choice. The reason why I said it is unpopular among us pacfans. Pac made that decision and that's unpopular even among us pacfans but that does not necessarilly mean that it wasn't a good decision.

I completely agree with you, but you and I both know that the situation in boxing is one where promoters are more about their politics and fueds than making good fights, and Pacman could havew avoided all that by signing into the goldenboy stable, they ALL would have cashed in, well except Arum.
I also think that PAC should pick GBP.
TOP RANks offer must be at least double than that of GBP.
I think minimum purse from GBP is 2M while TOP rank 3M. plus the signing bonus is $400K for GBP and $1M for TOP rank.
But i also think that signing 2 contracts is not a smart thing to do. :D
