Let's get some real talk here. This is assuming the rematch does fall through and it happens early next year. What can Barrera do? He has age, speed, and probably power, all against him. He is a great boxer indeed though how long can he box and hold off Manny? For 12 rounds? I think not. Can he just go to war and slug it out with Manny? Morales found out the hard way attemping that. Although at least he went out like a champ. What will Barrera do? I think one of the best things you could use against Manny was a jab as Morales showed in the first fight. Though after the first fight, Manny figured out how to take away Morale's jab and if you watch towards the 2nd half of the 2nd fight and the entire 3rd fight, Morales abandons his jab for the most part since he payed dearly everytime he threw it. Countered under the jab with the left or a right hook. What else can Barrera do? :puppy_dog
In order to have a chance to beat Pacquiao, Barrera will have to jab and grab a lot. Don't let Pacquiao get him against the ropes, avoid exchanges, work off of the jab. If he jabs and holds frequently, it might frustrate Pacquiao into getting wild and looking just for the left hand, and at that point Barrera can start counterpunching.
Honestly, I always considered Morales a better boxer than Barrera and Morales won by the closest of margins against Pacquiao the first time around. He worked his ass off to win that fight and couldn't do it a second time. I don't think Barrera can outbox Pacquiao, but who knows. He certainly has gotten to be a better boxer over the last couple of years, but good enough to keep Pacquiao off of him for 12 rounds? I doubt it
I luv Balut and puke(puh-ke)! Bet u like em too...I know Pacman eats a lot of Balut before the fight. Pakyaw even sells Balut....here's the proof
hahahahahha, that shit's hilarious! The dancing, the fighting, oh my, watching Manny throw some kicks and elbows, hilarious stuff! Stick to boxing! hahaha!

Peeps nay think you want to make them puke but this pics actually made me hungry. I want to look for balut right now but it's still early for balut vendors here in pinas.

in my humble opinion Barrera has to have the fight of his life to win... if pacmans promotional problems dont get settled may lead to Manny not being focused...then Marco got a better chance

Box his a$$....if he brawl with pac he may lose...so why not simple box his robot ass....Pac has no technique...Box his ass silly and reclaim your throne MAB...
to beat pacman all barrera has to do is have a PROPER training camp, he didnt have that before he fought pacman the first time, if he is also 100% conditioned and has stamina to fight 12 rounds, barrera can beat pacman, it wont be easy though.
he needs to circle to his left, throw his jab and although he can do this on the back foot, he also needs to make manny go backwards, throw his right hand to try to counter and neutralize manny left, and use his best punch... the left hook to the body constantly in the early rounds to slow down manny in the later rounds.
fighters learn a lot more after a defeat rather than a victory, and i honestly think barrera would not want this fight if he didnt think he could win it
barrer TKO in 3 rounds!!!! :boxing:
just kidding, barrera UD 12 rounds but i wouldnt be surprised if barrera hits the canvas but gets up to box his way to a win, pacman has been knocking down a lot of his fighters recently.
yes he could.
He have to jab and move and once he have the chance he throws a striaght right.
the main thing is to keep on moving and jabbing as well he jab should be different not like morales jab but lke Hashem Rahman's jabs which will make for Pac harder to counter.
another thing is alway keep moving side to side morales did the mistake standing toe-to-toe.
I don't really see it as possible.
Man, Barrera's getting old. It was pretty visible in the Juarez rematch. These guys are nearing the end of their careers and Pac is just the wrong fight.
I think you are describing bhop.
i was thinking more along the lines of vernon forrest against mosley. Hopkins lets his hands go on the inside............
and isnt Balut a half developed chicken still inside the egg? if so i've had it before, not to terribly bad, not my favorite but not bad.
Barerra needs to eat 3 BALUTs everyday (1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 1 in the evening) for a whole month before fight night...Guaranteed! This will will give him more power and energy and he'll surpass PAKYAW's stamina, speed and power...BALUT is the SECRET!

it's getting tougher and tougher to outbox Pacquiao, Manny's boxing is improving and has great stamina, he always has. but the thing here is that if barerra is going to box pacquiao like he did against juarez in their rematch, barerra isnt going to really get any credit and might not sway the judges because even the judges will want to see a fight and not a hit and run match, but i don't think that fighting style will work with Pacquiao. Pac is better at cutting off the ring and his hands are 1o times faster than Juarez's hands. plus once Barerra gets hit he throws back immediately, which could be Barerra's down fall in this fight, because Manny's hands are fast than Barerra's and Manny hits harder, not to forget that Barerra will be a sitting duck standing and trading and risks getting KO'd if he does.
the best thing i think for Barerra is to fight moving in and out, use a stiff jab, work the body and the most important tying up and clinching so manny can't get any shots off on the inside or on the break, make the ref seperate them. instead of punching with Pacquiao, Barerra ought to tie him up as often as possible to help off set Manny's rhythm and not let Manny throw at will. also on the inside barerra ought to look into throwing uppercuts, with Manny throwing with both hands whenever he throws and coming forward like he does, Marco has some openings to land and uppercut, then clinch when they collide. it's tough to do, but someone with Barerra's experience he should be able to manage. this might not be the most exciting approach and might not impress the judges but it will allow Barerra to control things so he doesn't get swarmed by Pacquiao.

fight the way he fought hamed.
Hamed is a onehanded fighter, thats why Marco was able to beat him so easily. Manny uses both his hands profiecently, Marco couldnt just circle to the left and take away Manny's left. Also Manny has a lot more footspeed compared to Hamed.
I think the best gameplan is for Mab to comes into the fight in the best possible condition. And take a page from Hatton's book. Hatton is able to neutralize opponent's superior handspeed and power by sticking in their chest the whole fight and outworking them. If Marco can come in top fight shape and just stay in extremely close to Manny to take away the handspeed and leverage Manny needs to throw that dynamic left hand he could stand a chance to win.
fight the way he fought hamed.
Easier said than done... in terms of skills, MAB may still have it, but i doubt that he still have the speed and reflexes to do it to Pac... another thing is, Pac is no Hamed... I think Pac is faster now than the first time they met... it would spell doom for MAB...
