Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer had this to say when asked about **********'s exclusive report Mosley-Cintron fight not being done due to several "major contractual violations" between promoter Bobby Bostick and the IBF welterweight champion. "We were very surprised to read these comments, because the fact is that the fight was confirmed to HBO and to Golden Boy by Manny Steward, who actually was very pleased he was instrumental in helping. When it did get 'done' Manny Steward told me that he's glad it's going forward and he believes Shane is going to lose the fight. I then thanked him for helping to get it done. The draft of the press release was submitted to the fighters promoter and he made some changes to it by email, and as the promoter of Mosley we can't negotiate through Cintron, so we have to negotiate with his promoter Bobby Bostick and manager Emanuel Steward. We are sorry that Kermit Cintron never had the opportunity to review this press release, but that is why he has a promoter. If there are these legal issues surrounding Cintron we need to have a talk with Shane Mosley. I have already left several messages for Bobby Bostick and we need to move swiftly to see if this fight can be saved or if we're going to have to move in another direction." Schaefer declined to comment when asked if neither Bostick, nor Steward informed him on what Steward himself described as "major contractual violations" to **********.com last night. If Golden Boy was in the dark as it relates to these legal and contractual issues, which this scribe believes they were, Bobby Bostick Promotions and evidently Emanuel Steward have some explaining to do."
The main thing I must admit I was in the dark to was Emmanuel Steward's role. Does he honesty believe in Cintron over Mosley? He is a very classic trainer..
Id much rather see Mosley vs Collazo. Theres no reason to fight Cintron that guys a bum. He stepped up to the plate anf got blasted by Margarito, then he almost got KO'd by Estrada. Mosley would KO him inside 7 guaranteed. Now collazo causes a ton of problems for Mosley. And collazo did exactly what Cintron didnt do. Proved he belonged with the big boys after his fight with Hatton.
There's been debate about that, though. Collazo went from an unknown to the guy that almost beat Hatton on a bad night. Hatton admitted he was not suited for the weight yet, and at his first Welterweight fight, was almost put down. Even then, though, Collazo walked away losing a fight which many observers feel could have gone either way. He did not dominate, or smother...but he did come close to winning. Close. Does that mean we should catapult him to "big player" status?
Most expected nothing and sure, got a lot more than that, but where does that really put him? Surely he needs to be tested further before he passes inspection..

Sad news.
Yup, better fight Collazo if Cintron is not available. But DAMN that's another 50/50 fight.
Does Cintron's power make for a more interesting fight than Collazo? Luis may be slick but I doubt he can hurt Sugar. Wouldn't it be more interesting to see a "puncher"/ "boxer" type of deal?
HBO will be ok with Collazo or Cintron. Collazo isn't having major promotional difficulties and therefore it will be Collazo in that ring vs Shane.
I hear that. So Mosley-Collazo instead, huh?

If you had a choice would it be Mosley-Cintron or Mosley-Collazo, as is the other viable option.
