I can't wait to see my boy Jonathan Oquendo take on Ponce de Leon or Boom Boom, I mean the way Jonathan destroyed past Saturday Montiel's brother tells me he's ready for top 122 comp. I'll take him over any of those guys.
Alejandro is Fernando's cousin not brother. And he's also way way past his prime. I still will like to see Oquendo fight better oppostion
i havent seen Jonathan Oquendo fight yet but the 122 looks to have a mini-trinidad and a mini-Sal sanchez coming up. and i think theres already a little rivalry between Mares and Bautista
this divisions ganna be interresting with 3 top prospects
Abner Mares 20 10(6)-0 Mexico
Rey Bautista 20 21(16)-0 Philippines
Jonathan Oquendo 23 12(7)-0 Puerto Rico
all being groomed by Goldenboy
I seen this guy fight he's pretty good but I still think he needs more experience, the 122 pound division is gettying good! enough fighters to go around.
ever hear of The Phillipines ?
Just because you haven't heard of him doesn't mean his a bad fighter does it? Let me put it this way for you, how many fighters outside of US and Mex has Golden Boy signed? He signed Oquendo when he had like 5 fights.
dude, his own mother's never heard of him !

Ponce would only lay out another non boxing bum who stands in front of him and waits for Ponce's wild shots, you've obviously never seen Oquendo fight have you?
Ponce would lay him out in the first minute

This afternoon, renowned trainer Freddie Roach paid a historic visit to the famed ALA Gym, home of some of Cebu's best fighters.
"Unbelievable! beautiful!," Roach exclaimed as he toured the sprawling, state-of-the-art complex with ALA Boxing Gym chief trainer Edito Villamor. The ALA Gym complex is made up of two boxing rings, fitness rooms, boxer's quarters, a running track, and a covered basketball court. "I would like to have this kind of gym in LA but I cannot afford it," Roach added.
Roach met with his Cebu-based boxers Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista and Z Gorres and was introduced for the first time to another ALA budding star AJ Banal who is scheduled to leave for LA in January to train at Roach's Wildcard Gym.
"Absolutely!," Roach responded when asked whether Z Gorres is ready for Montiel, the current WBO super flyweight champion whom Gorres is challenging next year. As far as Bautista challenging Daniel Ponce de Leon for the WBO superbantam crown is concerned, Roach said "line them up."

SGG's Sammy Gello-ani was also on hand to welcome Roach. "It was so nice of Freddie to visit our gym. The boxers were thrilled to see him there," Gello-ani said. Roach, according to Gello-ani, took special notice of the 'moving heavy bags' which Roach said was not possible in his gym due to the limited space.
Roach, together with friend Billy Keane, were earlier being toured by host Rex "Wakee" Salud to some of Cebu's well-known tourist spots and beaches before dropping by at the ALA Gym in the afternoon.
"I would like to come back here and stay for a longer period of time," Roach said before thanking and saying goodbyes to everyone.
