arce has said he will fight n e one n e where. vic has called him out. time to man up and make it happen arce. i pick vic. p4p one of the hardest hitters in the world
Does Vic need to move up in weigh? Or is it Arce?...so they can meet.
Vic needs to move up to 115 Super Flyweight because Arce just moved up from 112 Flyweight.
Vic has no problem moving up as he has stated before, he can go all the way up to bantamweight.
Lets hope this fight happens in 07.
i'd love to see the fight, both take shots and give em back twice as good. I just feel that arce will land flush early and will find darchinyan still coming through them. So i'd lean towards vic via a late ko/tko, i just hope the fight comes off.
I talked to Vic manager a few months ago, and he said he's not sure this fight will ever come off. Arce and his handlers seem not interested.....
But I hear Martin Castillo may fight Arce in 2007. I think that has a better chance of happening, instead of Vic.(who knows, maybe one day it will happen)
Bob Arum will juice it as much as possible. Before this fight you'll see both Arce and Darc be co-main events against slightly lesser opponents to build up the fight. Then barring injury to either fighter 3-5 months later it will happen. I would say fall of 2007 at best.
Arce is a warrior no doubt but I believe he is hiding a bit of shaky chin.
Jorge has the better overall skills but I believe Vic is going to find that chin.
This fight must happen!
The amount of talk and speculation about this match-up, which is incredible for a lighter weight match, should make it happen,
but I don't think it's going to happen till late in the year, mainly due Arum, who'll want to milk as much as possible out of the build-up.
Darchinyan's been calling out Arce for a while now, though, so even if Arum would prefer to avoid it, he can't do so without Arce, one of his main guarenteed money fighters, losing a lot of respect.
November 2007 is my guess.
PS. Don't think this has anything to do with Arce, who'd probably fight a Heavyweight for kicks on 2 days notice.
As for the fight, this one's a pick'em - who's going to be able to figure out the other guys style the quickest is what it'll probably come down to.

Hey guys I must say that Arce is a great fighter and I have a lot of respect for him as a boxer. But what I dont like is Top Rank and Bob Arum protecting his ass. Fucking Bob Arum is worried about his $$$ and doesnt want to risk Arce's reputation against Darchinyan. Since Darchinyan is at his peak he wont put Arce up against Darch right up until Darch gets older and this is when he will keep in. This is the reason why i hate Bob Arum.
If it doesn't happen, you pretty much know why. From what I've heard of it, it seems to be pretty probable for next year. I hope it happens. Arce has plenty of reasons to be scared.
