i suppose its how you view boxing, but i would say a boring fight is when both fighters are on the defense most the time, hardly throwing, waiting to dodge punches, but they never come,i do like technical skill full fights, but not to the point where they hardly hit eachother, but i dont know, some people might like that
Clinching does it for me. When two people are very defensive or not throwing much it's not as exciting, so to speak, but I still find it enjoyable... when there's clinching non-stop or anytime they throw 1 punch the other clinches then it drives me insane. Then there doing something to actually avoid action, as opposed to cause it.
hopkins taylor x 2
any junior witter fights (actually nuff brenden ingle fighters are dull as shit, jonny nelson for example)
idk how people can say hatton is boring. he clinches but he's always forcing action, u dont see hatton posing like judah or pbf

The most boring fight of 2006, in my opinion, was Junior Witter vs Demarcus Corley. The moment which sums up this fight for me came in either the 9th or 10th round (I can't precisely remember) when both boxes stood still for almost 20 seconds just eyeing each other.
A perfect example of a boring fight is Whittaker-McGirt. This fight was for the welterweight championship if I recall. Both were very skilled fighters, and you can learn a thing or two from them, but the fight itself was without action and highly boring.
I have 2 that always come to mind when people say boring.
1) You haven't seen boring until you've seen Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Derrick Gainer. Easily the most boring fight I've ever seen. I do imagine there have been 15 rounders similar to it which would top it, I just haven't seen them and never want to. I'm fairly certain people cheered the headbutt that ended the fight. I know I did.
2) Tarver-Jones III, which was entirely Roy's fault for not wanting to fight. I guess I can't claim it was horrendously boring because Tarver did almost knock his bitch ass out again, which would have been terrific. Oh well, Jones gets more criticism for just trying to survive so that's fine too. But this was the most boring big fight I've seen.
you dont really need to say what a boring fight is. you just know when ur watching one.
clinching, lack of action/initiative are the two big things that make a fight boring.
