Litzau KTFO.
I saw that coming with the right hand towards the end of the 7th. Litzau stopped dead in his tracks and his eyes didn't look right, then he slowed down and had nothing on his punches. I was screaming all the way through the 8th for Hernandez to jump on him.
I have no real reason, but I've never liked Litzau.
What a fight. What a punch!
That was a lucky punch. i mean, it was ALL litzau's fault. He left himself wide open AND he didnt see the punch coming. Hernandez did set it up, but he also got luck on the punches massive effect
No, he was not lucky on the force of it. He saw the opening and twisted his entire body into the punch. You don't "luckily" get power from a punch you put your whole body into.
Go back and watch again, starting at the end of the 7th round when Hernandez times Litzau's lunge with a straight right. Litzau is directly facing the camera as the punch lands and you can watch his eyes change. He had nothing on his punches in the 8th, and no defense the entire fight.
Hernandez has a great chin and pretty good timing and coordination and decent power. He will likely never be a world beater because he's slow and lacks defense, but he knew what he was doing against Clitzau.
I beg to differ, That was not a lucky punch, he set it up kinda like foreman set up morrer. He landed that shit right on the jaw. I loved it cause I never liked Litzau, he was a hype job that would've eventually lost to a top ten. Back to mopping floors"American Boy". What a joke.
What a prick Lampley is. He makes it sound as if it was lucky punch by Hernandez. It was set up by the straight right in the 7th you stupid prick.

Litzau is a good fighter but is a bit overrated. I think with a better corner and going back to basics he can do some damage. He fought the wrong fight that's for sure, he has good boxing ability and didn't use it, but he's still developing, I think he'll be back.
I never really bought into the hype surrounding Litzau. I thought he was a good fighter but nothing to marvel at. I think the fact that he was an unbeaten white fighter had a lot to do with his following, similar to Gerry Cooney back in the day. Good fighter yes but championship material? I doubt it.
I don't know why Litzau's trainer even bothers, he takes directions about as well as Stevie Wonder paints portraits.
It's not really a weak chin. He was a little off balance in the first round when he went down, and it was a good right hand.
He lunged into that straight right in the 7th and still managed to last nearly a full round without his legs under him before he got clocked.
It's his complete lack of defence that kils him. He believes too much in his power. I might start to like him as a fighter if he learns a lesson from this.
I loved how tonight blew up in HBO's faces.
You know they were drooling at the prospect of grooming the next Gatti when he gets KTFO.At least Kellerman fessed up to it in the post fight interview when he told Hernandez "During the fight even I was telling the Jason Litzau story"
Both he and cheerleader Lampley were, and then BOOM,thanks Hernandez, you made my day.

Foolish is all I could say. I knew he'd come back after the 1st. I said it. But I didn't know he'd just try for the ko AND leave himself open the entire rest of the fight. I knew he'd try to ko the guy, but that defense will get him KO'd on espn in the future.
