both just fought....a march date would be perfect....i hope this fight happens but i doubt it....im sure hbo would want to do another showcase of both before they pit them against one another.....im saying miranda knockes taylor out.....
Actually he should've been 3-0, only Taylor haters will say such a thing. BTW Taylor had a losing look to him during the interview with Larry Merchant after the Ouma fight, he's never happy with the way he fights, he knows he can do better in each fight.
Loser look cause he did his best and looked like shit!
Miranda has a big smile after EVERY fight. Even in Germany he was all smiles. He destroys everything that is put in front of him. Too bad for Abraham he didnt get stopped, maybe he wouldnt have gotten ruined.
I'd disagree with you on that one.
Well that's a huge Surprise.

Yeah the Winkster would just shut Miranda out. He's the best fighter in boxing.
Even Miranda's biggest punch wouldn't harm him, plus he'd just tag him with the jab over and over. It would be a mismatch.

Would be the toughest fight for Pantera, but since Taylor made it close, I wouldn't be surprised if Miranda could get a win.
It's a really bad style match up.
Miranda could try and use his strength....but I think he'd get impaled on the end of Wright's jab. Albeit he's not a blow up welterweight like Tito, a jab completely neutralizes a power attack. Especially when it hits over and over and over, and when the power punch comes....there's no target.
It's basic and I don't want to sound ridiculous by stating the obvious sorry. The difference being Taylor isn't a good inside fighter. He's like the Middleweight version of John Ruiz. He'll either freeze up or clinch the opponent....because he's nowhere near his punching range.
Wright uses lateral movement and covers up wisely, something that nobody does anymore....and nobody likes to face. The tricky southpaw style that is virtually extinct. Lacking punching power but by far the most technically sound and most difficult style to defend if orthodox.

I agree. Winky would beat Miranda at this time because of his style & might shut him out.

because taylor would murder Miranda...Dont let two fights fool you...
Ouma showed that he doesn't have to have the physical ability to compete with Taylor. I thought Mora would lose his last fight, or at least come close. The guy had a 4 or 5 inch advantage on him, and a good reach. Mora switched stances with ease, and was able to get inside him while avoiding big shots. Even though I was hoping he'd get beat, he impressed me a lot. It's not going to be long before Taylor has to fight a mandatory against Pavlik. I guess that's the price he'll pay for staying at 160. Pavlik will move away from middleweight after leaving these guys in the dust. Same thing will happen with Paul Williams ;)
Yea, I'm convinced. Miranda crushes Taylor.
Does Tayler have the balls to give Miranda a shot?
Miranda's power overated??? When's the last time anyone saw Howard Eastman even on the defensive? Miranda not only did that but KO'ed him. Even when Eastman fought Hopkins & was getting countered all night by some hard punches, he was still the aggressor trying to land something big on Hopkins. I also think people are underating Eastman's power as well. Taylor's had an opportunity to fight Eastman & they passed on that; & that was before Miranda fought Eastman. Taylor's boxing career has been guided away from punchers. Who's the hardest puncher he's ever faced? Joppy & Hopkins & neither are punchers. I think Taylor's camp wants to keep it that way too because of the defensive issues he has that might be exposed by a puncher.
i don't see taylor's people ever letting pavlik or miranda sit at ringside at one of taylor's easy fights, let along get in the ring with him. either pavlik or miranda would knock taylor out. pavlik is still a little green for taylor yet, i think he needs one fight against a top 10 middleweight contender first, but this is bseide the point, taylor's people know pavlik would knock jermain the fuck out, they'll never let it happen. he'll be fighting featherfisted blown up junior middleweights after he ko's mora
Abraham will be fine. To pick that is controversial so I'll leave it alone, but I assume we all would agree (I'm not trying to be an ass, really) that Wright is the toughest fight for Miranda and that it is damn near unwinnable.
I agree. Winky would beat Miranda at this time because of his style & might shut him out.
How about this idea: if MIranda were to beat Taylor and become middleweight champ, De La Hoya would give him a fight and beat him quite easily to become middleweight champ (also an easier fight for Oscar than fighting Winky). I'm not saying I want that to happen.
The only way I see Miranda losing is if he's outboxed. Winky could outbox him by fighting his normal fight & frustrate him. Abraham I'm not so sure about that especially if the fight is in the U.S. Abraham likes to brawl at times & brawling with a puncher could get him hurt or KO'ed. Abraham doesn't have great defense as well & without any hometown help I think he loses; that is if he's able to fight again.

That's a fair analysis of Taylor's career. You are right, and Taylor will get away with it because Miranda will lose to Abraham and/or be shut out 120-108 by Wright. If Taylor's people want to duck Miranda they will get away with it, because Miranda will lose to plenty of other guys.

Miranda is bigger, stronger and IMO has better skills than Taylor.
Miranda would KO Taylor within 6 rounds.

Taylor is modestly skilled and I agree with you completely.

Not appealing I agree, but his Contender stint made him popular in the United States - a lot more popular than Miranda.
Same reason Calzaghe is facing Manfredo.
And this is why Boxing sucks sometimes..........
Miranda's punches are wild, he gets by on natural ability. Even the punch he hit Gibbs was not thrown properly. Gibbs was hit with the inside of the glove on the face.
I think he would become a even better fighter if he could improve his technical skills, and with his power, could do some serious damage.
Boxing fans don't comprise a large enough contingent to make this economically viable as a contest.
2 people will watch the fight..
But I would like to see it as one of the 2.
Taylor is annoying at this point. I keep forgetting he exists.
i dont think miranda could of knocked ouma out that night, taylor through everything and ouma was not going down. there isnt a middleweight out there that can beat jt right now. Hes got a lightheavyweight to heavyweight body. He looks like tarver in there but with much greater handspeed, power and stamina. Good luck thinking miranda will knock him out , let alone beat him. Taylor is the best upcoming fighter ive seen in a while, i think the little youngster Berto hits harder than miranda. But good luck to all you guys win you lose your bet thinking taylor is going to lose anytime soon. Not going to happen. Not even to calzage. to big and to strong and to fast.
