If Ward-Augustus had gotten half the press "Ward-Gotti #1" had gotten, Ring magazine would have called that the "Fight of the Year" too. That's not to denigrate Ward-Gotti, btw, I was at both of those fights - I say that more as a testament to Mickey Ward being the toughest S.O.B I've ever seen ... and I thought he won that first fight with Gotti, too, I sat ringside - it was close, to be sure, but there was a right answer there, and that was wrongly decided (I'm sure there have been too many posts about that issue to count though, so I'm not gonna try and revive an old, and very bitter debate)

Is that some kind of new remedy for erectile dysfunction? ... "YOU can get The Big Poppa Pump for only 5 easy payments of $19.95!" ... lol. Actually I never fought at the casino in Hampton Beach myself but I have been to many of the shows there and workled corners for several fighters..those shows are always GREAT..the atmosphere, the setting, the beach right across the street, the summer feel to it all... that's where Mickey Ward fought that great fight with Emmanuel Augustus.

I was Googling Valuev today b/c I heard about the announcement of the McCline fight in January, and I came upon this guy's boxing article ... don't know if ya'll appreciate some quality sportswriting (I'm a big Bert Sugar fan myself), but I thought this was good ... if anything the announcement that valuev would be fighting mccline tells you that this whole article is bullshit, valuev wants no part of any of the champs, and king wants it to stay that way. the article states that don king may want a tourney since he only has two fights left as valuevs promotor...well mccline is one of them, which means king wont put him in a tourney cause he would only be promotor of the first bout contractually.... so basically that makes it impossible valuev is a 330 pound pussy, he has never fought a good fighter and has taken the path of least resistance since every single step of the way
