oh dear we are going to have at least another 2 years of glass chin kahn fighting hand picked oppenents making millions off the back of us brits who are gullible enough to think he`s a great fighter . then he will fight a world class fighter and get knocked out. another 2 year of hype and con oh shit.
lmao at the completely ludicrous nit picking and lies..
Firstly i'd like to point out that i dont know if khan will ever be a great, he has good footwork, speed and decent power..but in my opinion his defence and trainer are both crap, his chin doesn't look brilliant either.
firstly the lies..khan has never just thanked the muslims, ive seen all 10 fights and post fight interviews, he HAS mentioned his religion but so do so many other boxers eg, audley harisson on the same bill.
Secondly with regards to his arrogance, he has boxer like arrogance/confidence which 95% of boxers probably have, most boxers with unbeaten records predict wins, titles and claim to be the best in their division..outside of boxing khan is a down to earth lad, he lives 10 miles from me and i've seen him at shopping centres etc a few times,he's always friendly and smiles to everyone that acknowledges him.
If you wanna slate him then do so but stopping looking for lame excuses to slate him, some of which arent even true.
quite right its so obvious he`s not going to make the top he`s far to fragile and all this nonsence about him leaning is trade is just wishfull thinking by the gullible hype believers.:pat:
It's not wishful thinking, it's fact. A fighter at the age of 20 should be given ample opportunity to learn his trade. Yes, in many cases you get exceptional young fighters like De La Hoya, Tyson, Ali, Barrera, etc etc etc, and Khan is not yet of that class, and perhaps never will be. However, he has plenty of potential and should be given the chance to realise it. His success at the Olympics has added to the exposure and 'hype' he now gets in the professional ranks, but i feel that some of the criticism he receives is unfair, and some that criticize are narrow minded.
I for one am not fooled by Khan. I doubt he will ever hold a legitamit world title (other than the WBO)
Who's betting he faces a no namer for the vacant WBU belt in his first world title match?

yet another brainwashed brit believing all the hype can`t you see he just not have the power or toughness to reach world class and there is no way i`m going to take a long walk off a short pier i`ll get soaked

:stupid:
If I was you I would seriously consider taking a long walk of a short pier, Amir Kahn is not considered to be a great anyone yet. However you can see the potential he has to be one of the best unless your blind. Of course he's gonna fight some more stepping stone fights you loser its part of his learning process.
Every time he gets in the ring he looks better and one day your gonna wish you didn't start this thread.:boxing:

I wouldn't say the Brits are guillible, that's just a hero worship dude. Just like the way Mexicans and Pinoy's root for their fighters.
Khan is still undeated so the Brits have all the right to say, claim and believe their fighter is great. :)
yes mexicans etc hero worship fighters who prove there skill and guts in epic battles khan has done nothing and would get destroyed against a world class mexican, why hero worship a fighter who has proven nothing
its a bit early to judge khan yet
of course he has been fighting hand picked opponents,he is just starting out.
hes only 20
At last someone with a bit of sense!!

he said he could beat pbf over 4 rounds
lmao
It's all very well saying that, but he won't get the chance to fight Mayweather over 4 rounds! Khan still has to learn his trade, and he knows that.
i agree with you. but i'm just saying i can see why a lot of people won't give him the chance.
Yes, but that is sometimes the nature of this sport! You're always going to get people who dislike the attitude, beliefs etc of certain fighters but IMO this can sometimes have a negative effect on how they actually rate the potential of a fighter. Khan is only 20 years of age, therefore, i think it is a little hasty if people think that he won't go on to achieve much in boxing. He clearly has potential so should be given the chance to realise it.
I am in no way whatsoever trying to diss Amir's beliefs. I am only pointing out that he has more similarities to Naz than most people think.
Naz is one of his role models.
I've heard him say it in post fight interveiws
Well in this fight and in last years december fight he wished everyone a happy christmas.I really doubt that was intended for his muslim fans only!!
the added publicity raises expectations and pressure, which is why people are given licence to make hasty predictions about what the lad is going to accomplish! For f*cks sake let him learn his trade!
Eventually he will have to fight higher class opponents that is obvious!
In my opinion, the added media/publicity, and public interest can sometimes be a burden for fighters trying to learn their trade, because they will always be open to criticism. In the cases of Khan and Audley Harrison they both had success in the amateur game including the Olympics so that added pressure also. After his Olympic gold success, Harrison was shrewd enough to negotiate his own 10 fight deal in the professional game, and this made him a millionaire, but also drew criticism. Fighters under a constant microscope will always be open to criticism.
Amir Khan is a talented fighter, who at 20 years of age, still has plenty to experience. He needs to progress, no doubt, but what fighter at the age of 20 doesn't? Give him a chance.
i agree with you. but i'm just saying i can see why a lot of people won't give him the chance.
Amir is perfectly withion his rights to dedicate his fights to, and thank all his muslim fans but he could at least thank the rest of his fans too....he is afterall british, and britain is not a muslim based nation.
are you sure? i've never seen that. i know naz did it, partly as part of the act and to wind up opponents, but i have never seen khan do that....in fact they always use him as a figurehead for multiculturalism. naz never wore the union jack.
either he's been taken out of context, or i've missed something major. you got any links to him saying that?
i really can't see the connection between naz and khan. ok, khan has imitated some of the shit naz said, but in terms of personality they are worlds apart. in interviews khan comes across as confident and sometimes even a little arrogant, but never disrespectful. naz didn't really give a shit and was always playing the joker.
Good for you. The spelling lessons should help you out.
I'd have thought you'd be very familiar with the word retard.
beowuled your the one who keeps bringing up that word do you associate yourself with it, and remember life is a break from non excistence so relax and don`t allow yourself to get wound up so easily.:bottle:
BEAWULFE me and my mate had a pound bet that you would get upset by my comment i won and will spend the quid on spelling lessons. by the way what does retard mean

I have seen him do it for sure but there was even once he spoke into the mic and said thankyou to all his muslim fans and bugger all to his other fans.
Naz was similar, in fact Naz got a little carried away with all the religion.
Before he fought Barrera he wanted to say a muslim prayer into the mic and I thought at the time, fair enough, but then I seen the documentary where he was saying to Michael Buffer that being able to say this prayer meant more to him than the fight itself.....kinda downgraded the sport.
Amir is perfectly withion his rights to dedicate his fights to, and thank all his muslim fans but he could at least thank the rest of his fans too....he is afterall british, and britain is not a muslim based nation.
I dont think it degrading because for every muslim religion is more important than anything and even if he loved it so much.
even for christians too could be said the same.
Setting the record straight
1. The replays shows a punch graze him and his foot got stuck in the ropes and his glove hit the canvas. Ref apologized.
2.As soon as his glove hit the canvas he was back on his feet and came back with 3 piece then the ref stepped in.
3.Prior to this fight he only went to 6th round once in a decision, Drilzane (this weeks opponent)only landed good shots from 7th round on,plus Drilzane has fought at Welterweight and Amir is a natural lightweight. before that he was simply outclassing the guy.
4.Ive downloaded the Mayweather Career and seen some of his earlier fights, at this point of his career he had some mediocre showings when he could not stop the guy, although against much better opposition.
Not sugggesting he's anything like mayweather, but not exactly Bojado, Clearence Vinson, or Ricky Williams.
exactly...but with the difference from other fighters starting out being the publicity and every minute of his pro career screened live to millions. kind of raises expectations seeing as a lot of his armchair fans know very little about how boxing works.

He is clearly trying to become the next Naz imo(outside the ring anyway) but he lacks all the crudentials to be half as successful inside the ring.
He is running around actind like a super celeb (Naz did this when he was starting out)
He is claiming he will become the youngest champion (Naz did this)
He is still a novice yet claiming he is ready for a world title (Naz did this)
He is always quoted dedicating his fights to all the muslims in the UK (Naz did this, I also think that seems a bit disrespectful to the other 90% of boxing fans who follow him)
However.......Naz backed most of his claims up in the ring (until he started to get sloppy, sacking trainers etc) Khan will be lucky to reach Euro level and if the level of his opponents stays as bad as they are for too long then he might not even make it to a british title. OK he has only had 10 fights and is still very young but if there's one thing I've learned over the years, its never expect a Frank Warren fighter to fight a decent opponent unles its as a very last resort.
well said :cool3:
