Hopefully Toney will wise up and come into the ring in great shape.
Hopefully Toney will realise this is pretty much the last hope in his long career.
If he does, then we are in for another tremendous Heavyweight fight.
I thought the first 6 rounds of their first fight was tremendous. Toney was hurt, and he was still nailing Peter with some great countershots.
The first 6 rounds, especially round 6 itself, were extremely good heavyweight rounds.
But as the fight went on, Both fighters kinda tired out and they clinched a lot and started not throwing much at all.
If toney has the stamina this time, i think we are in for the best Heavyweight Fight of the Year, in january
I think that fight took a lot out of Toney. That punch on the side of his head that wobbled him was brutal. I think he will fight a smarter fight this time because if you look back at the fight, there we some ocasions where he was trading with Peter. This time I think he will be better prepared mentally, but physically hes only getting older.
I think Vitali had a heavy handed gift similar to Foreman moreso than Peter does. Both Vit and George (first career) threw punches from the hips. Peter does seem to have heavy hands but not quite like those two.
peter's power is hugely overrated. he's very very strong physically but doesnt have enough snap and throws his punches too long to be a big knockout guy. he clubs you and will take out the c class guys and guys with weak chins,,,,but against good opposition and guys with decent chins he's a distance fighter as his fights with hawkins...shufford..pudar...and toney showed
Toney did not look too slim in that press conference last week. I just cannot see how he is going to lose the excess weight he looked to be carrying last week in three weeks time.
In the first fight, I thought Toney did just enough to win by a slight margin. I do not believe things will be the same in the second fight. I think Peter wins by unanimous decision this time.

Do you have a problem with your ego? why do you have to put your thread titles always in CAPS, followed by as many exclamation marks as fit in a title? :nonono:
It makes the thread seem more glamerous :D
and id give peter a BETTER chance this time around, but i still got toney winning the fight. Much closer this time though. Not a TONEY blowout like it SHOULD have been last time
This will be just as good if not better then the 1st fight, Peter will come out strong as usual and will probley rock Toney a couple times as he did the 1st fight, but Toney will do what he always does and thats pressure Peter constantly with his jab and counterpunching, i also see James working off the ropes this fight a lot more then the 1st becuz after watching the tape of the 1st i know he sees that he had some good work from off da ropes! This play will overall play out like the 1st but hopefully the judges actaully watch the fight and crown the true winner!

.....I thought the first fight was a real stinker.
I said Peter had the heaviest hands of anyone I've seen since an old George Foreman, not that he was the hardest puncher. I still stand by that statement. Peter hands are so heavy that he hurts guys with even half decent punches and glancing blows.
It's gonna be tougher than the first fight for Toney. Peter has an easy style to figure out, he's not a complex fighter. He troubled Toney because of his size and strength. Toney gave Peter problems early but Peter figured him out a bit and was even countering Toney at times later in the fight. I think Peter will benefit more from a 2nd fight, as Toney had the element of surprise and a tricky style the first time out. He knows what to expect.
peter needs to come in lighter this time. 250+ is just too much for him and it really affects his hand speed. that made it a close tough fight last time. of course with toney its hard to see him coming in any better shape as he's doing nothing but getting older

This time Peter stands a greater chance to KO Toney.
No way would Billy Banks be able to put Toney in shape in one month -- Toney needs at least 3 month to lose 30 pounds of fat.
