Winky Wright style is very odd to me. He stands there with his hands up
covering up and it seems as if you can't hit him cleanly. Now this type of
defense seems like the easiet to learn as opposed to mayweather's style of
defense. Why is it that other fighters are not able to imitate Winky's defense
and be that successful? I honestly don't know how his defense works. Is it his
exceptionally long arms and huge gloves? He doesn't rely on speed or power, he
just covers up. how is he so successful at doing it? Sorry if you guys don't
understand the question but his style has just got me thinking
Well I think you also have to be blessed physically to use this defense. Winky has really long arms and larger gloves and he can block almost his whole upper torso. Clottey used this defense as well except he couldnt protect his body because his arms werent long enough. I also think you have to be able to take some punishment to the body because there are still small windows of punching room where body work could do damage.
