After a couple hours of reflection, I just can't help but feel fucking sick about the verdict in the Lacy-Tsypko fight. That is the worst, most blatant robbery I have ever seen. I got to thinking about the fact, in 50 years people will just look back and see a Jeff Lacy win, and the fact in a months time nobody will care about the fact Tsypko was robbed, but then I also got to thinking the effect that must have on the fighter. Like, how must Tsypko feel to have flown 6,000 miles and put in the performance of his career only to be the victim of an outrageous hometown decision? That must be some de-moralizing stuff. I think this stuff is beginning to mount up now, and I get the feeling like it's useless, regardless of whether the home fighter is beaten or not he gets the win regardless. It takes the shine off the sport for me, and at the moment I'm feeling pretty indifferent to it all, like I'm close to losing interest.
Another thing, it makes me literally "LOL" when thinking about the Americans claiming Britain has alot of hometown decisions and screwjobs. I mean, god damn I thought Germany was bad, but America seems to be on a whole new level when it comes to that sort of stuff!
i had tsypko beating lacy 96-94.
lacy started good but once old boy found out how to deal with lacy's game plan he took control of the fight, there is no way lacy beat tsypko. lacy almost got dropped twice and was getting hit with clean punches all night long, where as lacy's punches were either hitting glove, missing, or occasionally landing.
the announcers were saying that tsypko needed to be more active but he out landed lacy in total punches and in power punches. he hit lacy cleaner and he staggered lacy, lacy hit tsypko hard but it didn't phase him in the slightest. and why does tyspko have to do more than lacy to get any credit, lacy isnt the champ, lacy wasn't dominant, lacy isn't king shit to where you have to totally outclass him, he's just another fighter, lacy was the one that had to prove himself last night, not tsypko. and i think lacy was out boxed plain and simple, all lacy proved is that hometown judging strikes again as well as your new promoter having mad leverage in the boxing world.
lacy was given a gift and at this point lacy doesn't need gifts he needs a reality check, because giving him a fight like this isnt preparing him for harder fights in the future, he is going to fall right into the same place he was before fighting Joe Calzaghe, thinking he can dominate or ko anyone..........when all that is going to happen is him learning the hard way again and in embarrassing fashion too....................
the best way to see that lacy is losing the fight even without scoring it, was looking into the front row and seeing DLH,BHop, Mosley, and his dad Jack. they all had a look of concern on their faces and you could tell that they were thinking lacy is having his hands more than full.
Regardless if you thought the decision was a robbery, fair, or unfair there will always be questionable decisions in boxing. I agree it's unfair to the fighter on the losing side of the decision. However, if you're a professional boxer then you should expect that at least, once if not several times in your career you're going to be on the winning end and/or the losing end of a questionable decision and should learn to deal with it and try to turn it into a positive.
For example, Larry Holmes was on the losing side of a questionable decision against Michael Spinks and subsequently was unable to beat Marciano's heavyweight record. Talk about feeling robbed! However, Holmes got over that bad decision and was able win some very career defining fights as well as making some good money along the way.
In contrast, Fres Quendo lost a very bad decision to former IBF champ Chris Bryd in which many called a "robbery." As a result Oquendo let that fight and bad decision get to him and hasn't been much of a factor ever since.
Point is, bad decisions happen all the time in boxing and the fighters have to realize that and not let it ruin their careers.
I'm aware of Mr Tsypko's nationality and I didn't say Germany was Tsypko's base of operations. The fact remains that he has fought a lot in Germany and German crookedness robbed Magee.
Well I didnt see the fight and I believe you. If Magee was robbed then thats gay.
But last night Tsypko was robbed. Thats gay x2.
And there should be no gay in boxing.
If you catch me drift.
Germany is not Tsypkos hometown.
He trains and fights out of Dnipropetrovsk.

As I have said many times before, Calzaghe has RETIRED Lacy. Regardless of whether we have to watch 2 or 3 more comically bad performances like last night or not, the end result will be the same: he has been RETIRED.
He's a one-dimensional bodybuilder with no skills. I wasn't even that excited about Calzaghe's performance, all this talk of it being a 'career-defining' fight was a joke. It's just proof of what a poor state the division is in that he was considered a talent. He'll be flipping burgers before the year is out.
I think Lacy needs to get with a quality trainer (like Buddy McGirt, Freddy Roach, or Manny Stewart) or quit. He's just going to get hurt if he fights decent opposition. He fought a Heinz Tomato Can last night and almost got KO'd. He barely deserved a draw in that fight.
He really needs to go back to the drawing board.
Tsypko is no bum, he was regarded as a very good prospect until his very controversial win over Magee and his fairly close loss to Chanet. He is quite an awkward fighter too, it was a tough first fight back for Lacy.
I agree that someone like Freddy Roach would definately be good for Lacy, make him a bit more controlled and help him pick his punches better. Roach has a track record of refining brawlers into more rounded pugilists.

Lacy is a shot fighter that needs to retire. he don't have the punch or the skills to be a top fighter.
roflcopter, It's his first time back since a big beating let see his next couple fights then decide if he's "shot".
I thought the decision was in a way fair, cause it could've gone either way, it was just too close. Lacy won it, but Tsypko could've won as well, or it could've ended up a draw. but I had the fight a draw with 95-95. Also, after watching this, I have total respect Tsypko, he showed alot of heart, and showed he could box, and he even outboxed Lacy.
Not really. Did anyone expect Lacy to be the same after the Calzaghe beating?
True, but one thing ino,Lacy is 1 dimensional,he started showing that after the Ried fight,he dont like working at a pace, and he NEVER goes to the body
The question is,does this take a little bit of Calzaghes win? It might do....

I didnt read that all but i agree,a bullshit decision, why bother? Why cant the judges just give it to the guy that won, this is what pisses me off,and Lacy looked good for the first 4 rounds, then looked like he didnt no wdf 2 do,he got outboxed for the remaining 6 rounds, and got hurt badly, hes 1 dimensional
