I always thought of Marciano, if you judge by today's standards, as a Light-Heavyweight/Crusierweight...I say this because he was 185, the same as LH of today that lose 10 pounds for weigh-ins, then show up at fight
time at 185+ pounds...So, judging by that, is there any LH in history that could beat him?
Please be serious, no bullshit.
marciano was a good fighter..but he was EASY to hit very easy...holyfield beats him..maybe michael moorer and bob foster..roy jones might could run around and win a decision
How the fuck would you if I didn't watch vintage boxing footage? I pride myself on my boxing knowledge and collect boxing material everytime I get a chance. You're completely off base by saying I base my judgments off of a website. Its clear you can't make an objective opinion because Rocky is your favorite fighter.
oh yeah, i guess i know nothing about marciano cuz hes my favorite fighter. cuz everybody who has a favorite fighter is just a blind nuthugger who doesnt look at the bad as well as the good right? this shows that you really are a computer nerd cuz obviously the only two kinds of people you know are haters and huggers. get a real life and meet some real people, jackass.
you've never even seen the fights cuz you keep saying "they were past their primes" when the fights and their performances say otherwise.
charles was bouncing on his feet, snapping the jab, throwing very good combinations, and giving rocky a tough fight. if you saw this fight and still think charles was past his prime, what punch cut marciano that almost stopped the fight? and where was the cut located?
walcott wasnt as agile or "bouncy" as charles, but his combinations and counters were amazing. if you saw this fight and have an actual say in it, what was the punch that rocky landed while walcott was unconcious on the ropes?
the moore fight wasnt nearly as competative as the walcott and charles fights, but moore had his moments. if you saw this fight and know what ur talking about, how did rocky fall down when moored KDd him?
prove to me im wrong and prove to me that you have knowledge beyond boxrec. if you cant, then stop talking cuz you know nothing about marciano or charles.
louis was past his prime, but charles wasnt. walcott and moore were like hopkins, they got better with age.
instead of calling me a "stan" (wtf?), try and actually watching those fights on espn classic instead of basing all of ur boxing knowledge on a single website full of nothing but statistics?

So when Foreman beat Moorer he wasn't on the downslide? Good fighters can still manage to win past the peak of their careers. But when you put them against another great fighter in the prime of their careers they're going to get beat. So explain to me was Joe Louis in his prime when he fought the Rock or how about Joe Walcott and Archie Moore? Were they in the prime?
I know Rocky is your favorite fighter but you need to get a grip of reality and stop dickriding him you stan

funny, you say "owned" like the little computer nerd that you are dispite the fact that you haven't said anything outside of ur biased opinion and have proved nothing. hell, you haven't even seen the fight, for fuck's sake.
charles had 90 fights before he fought rocky. but if he was on the downside of his career, how is it he managed to beat rex layne, bob satterfield, and jimmy bivins before he fought marciano?
gee, probly cuz he wasnt past his prime like you said. :duh:

You can't honestly give me an answer because it would prove my point, Charles was past his prime when he fought Rock, just like every other champion.
:owned:

Ezzard Charles was past his prime after the Jersey Joe Walcott fight, he was on his downslide to his career. HOW MANY FIGHTS HAD CHARLES FOUGHT BEFORE TAKING ON A PRIME ROCKY?
yeah, ok mr. all-my-boxing-knowledge-is-from-boxrec.
oh yeah, cuz we all know that ur a dinosaur when you hit 32, right?:nonono:

rocky marciano is one of the biggest myths in history, the only way to get in a fight with the rock was to either be a bum or be way past your prime. hes fought 4 champions all of them past the age of 35. he never fought a quality opponent that wasnt past their prime
ezzard charles was 32.

rocky was undefeated, but he wasnt unbeatable. he was one tough sumbitch, but he cut easily, was slow with his feet and hands, had very little defense to speak of, and was basically there to keep throwing punches, break you down, and knock you out.
speed and fast hands would shred rocky's face and force a doctor stoppage.
P.S. rocky marciano is my favorite boxer of all time, but i know he wasnt unbeatable.
