Seriously? What has this guy proved? He is a surpreme boxer now? That can KO Cotto? Damn i heard the same shit with Cotto vs Paulie.. Cotto Vs Branco shit...
Quintana beat a one dimensional Julio... Cotto moving up in weight will only make him more focused and stronger.
I just don't get why everyone on the bandwagon? :nonono: Based on one fight?
I want them at 147 for this fight. Cotto has the tools to take Hatton out. Hatton is overrated also.
Hatton knocks cotto out in round 6!!!!
those 6 rounds would be an absolute WAR though!!!!
A two-sided war.
I could see cotto winning the fight as well, but either waym the fight is not lasting very long
Cotto isn't no Hatton.
we will see.
Jumping up a weight class is no easy task for a trainer.
hatton is evidence of how NOT to do it.
Cotto seems well prepared though
Damn right. Hatton would smash Cotto to pieces in whatever weight they fought at.

That's your opinion, I disagree with it but I don't think you're stupid purely on the basis of an opinion.
Hatton couldnt handle Collazo's power at 147, I shudder to think what Cotto would do to him.
Well if Cotto and Hatton decided to stage the fight at 160 pounds would that suddenly mean that Cotto's power is increased further simply because he struggles to make weight? No, he would be the same man. Hatton is a big Light-Welterweight and struggles to get down to 140 himself. I'm only gonna say this one last time but seriously people have blown Hatton's lone performance at 147 way out of proportion, he boxed badly and didn't pick apart Collazo in the way he usually does. Maybe some of that was down to fighting at a new weight but not all of it and let's not forget Hatton won that fight anyway.
yeah, ok. we could play the "what if" game but instead lets play the "what happend" game cuz "what happend" is what really counts. hatton didnt stop collazo in the 1st, probly because he is/was incapable of accomplishing said feat. hatton has 5 1st round KOs in his career, all of which coming in the 1st 13 months of his career, his last one being on halloween of '98.
that should tell you that ricky aint the "1st round" kinda guy.
Reguardless Cotto isn't an established Welterweight, he's making the move up and we'll have to see how he does with it.
Like I've already said Hatton had a bad night in his first fight at Welterweight and I think everybody over emphasises the weight issue, If he had stopped Collazo in the first round after the knockdown nobody would have questioned his weight and it would have been a different story entirely.

??? He didn't hurt Collazo. He caught him with a good shot and the perfect time. Collazo was dancing backwards and had his legs at an angle.
He got off the mat and whooped Ricky's ass. He wasn't hurt.
Dannnn are you stupid or something?

Ricky has a better chin, but his power is severly weakened at 147.

Hatton faced a full blown Welterweight in Luis Collazo and it has to be said put up one of his worst career performances anyway. I don't think it should all be blamed on the weight, Ricky just wasn't his best that night.
However if he moved up to 147 to face Cotto he would essentially be facing a Light-Welterweight at Welterweight so there wouldn't be any real advanatge to either fighter, so yes that's why I think Hatton would have the beating of Cotto at any weight. As I personally also believe he would over Floyd Mayweather Jr aswell, If he fights his best that is.
you've got the whole thing bass ackwards. HATTON is the jr welter at welter and COTTO is the real welter. cotto's moving up in weight cuz making 140 is killing him. hatton moved up for big fights and now hes moving back down to 140.
you see how that works?
I just hope Quintana is as good as people are saying he is so it could be an entertaining fight.
Not in the mood for a jabfest tonight. Give us another Cotto - Torres!

I don't particularly think Quintana is going to win, I just hope he will win.
I really like his style and I think if he could sharpen his game a little more than he could be a great fighter. The biggest problem I see is that he tends to jump in and he jumps right into a glove on his face which knocks him down. I think you will see a knock down in this fight. But his movement is spectacular and he punches at lots of angles which sometimes causes a punch that you aren't expecting or don't see. He has super potential.

dont be stupid. every1 knows hatton has no place being at 147 anymore. now, at 140, yes hatton would probly beat cotto. but 147, cotto crushes ricky.
cotto's not one dimensional fighter. hes not like tito who cant touch you if you have a jab. and unlike julio, cotto's a proven fighter. we know what he has, julio's breakout fight was a big flop. cotto's a champion and an extremely well rounded fighter.
cotto's gonna break down quintana with his left to the body and stop him in the mid or later rounds.
