Nigel Benn had three good scraps, two of which he lost (Chris Eubank, in case you need to be reminded, the other was Grald McClellan). Monzon was another one. Strong as a fucking horse, but he didn't look it. Yeah definitely, Nigel Benn was an exceptionally gifted puncher for sure. Still Fitz for me takes the cake for the all time title, beating the guys he did at heavyweight while weighing only 167 himself. This wasn't a middle who put on weight to fight the heavies, this was a middleweight fighting heavies. His knockouts were brutal, particular of the uber rugged Tom Sharkey, whom Jim Jeffries couldn't stop in two fights. Maybe you can argue Langford neck and neck for P4P power, but no higher.

Really, it's Taylor. Taylor's punches are just shorter and more compact than Miranda and Abraham, who have a bluntness to their blows that diminishes impact, as compared to Taylor's crisper, straighter shots. Miranda is just a no-style kind of bomber, I love him to death but realistically I don't think too much of his technique. Jerson Ravelo told me that at an Olympic qualifier he saw Miranda launched into the air, spin around and land on his back from a hook. I'd love to see that! I have heard he was extremly crude and all out throwing bombs through most of his amature fights. He had a big fan club in Colombia for it. If you know how to get a hold of any of his amature fights I would be willing to pay to get a hold of them!

I think Taylor and Miranda punch pretty hard. Taylor has faced probably the 2 best defensive fighters in the sport in his last 3 fights so we haven't seen him land his bombs against them.

taylor doesnt hit nearly as hard as people are saying. edison miranda is the hardest hitter. pavlik is a good hitter, but his punches are more effective because of accuracy and timing instead of power. the hardest hitting MW of all time IMO was stanley ketchel. of course, almost nobody here ever saw him fight. but i saw clips of his fight with jack johnson and i've heard a lot of archival praise for his power. ring magazine has him ranked #6 in the top 100 hardest p4p hitters in history. with a record of 52-4-4 with 49 KOs, i'd say he was a pretty hard hitting MW.

I hear Kelly Pavlik has got ALOT of power,and ive seen a few vids of him on youtube knocking a few guys out cold,hes only 24 Jermain Taylor and Miranda definatly I dont think Abraham is the hardest puncher,i dont think he has that 1 punch knockout power but Pavlik,Taylor and Miranda definatly do

Taylor has good power, but Edison Miranda is the most powerful middleweight. I agree with this..........Pavlik looks pretty strong too but doubt he will be a MW much longer.
