I know everyone rips on Toney because he comes in so heavy for his fights, but has anyone asked whether or not he can still cut weight? Let's look at the facts, he is close to 40 years of age and has suffered 2 near career ending injuries. First a rupture of an achilles tendon and then a severe tear in his left arm. What people don't know is that the damage to his arm was so extreme that the doctors had to replace muscle tissue with that of a cadaver. He actually has tissue from a dead body to keep his arm from falling apart. Doctors were skeptical if he would even punch with his left arm again. Keeping this in mind, just how intense could he train during camp without risking injury? I remember Roach saying how they opted out of a final sparring session leading into the Peter fight because they were happy they made it that far without sustaining any injuries. Can Toney still come in better shape or has time caught up with him?
It's a shame he's a fat shit.
Seeing a trim 220lb Toney at heavy would be awesome.
But it seems that all those skills are not worth much when you look like an elephant.
One of the best boxers is business but in his 4 fights he was an L, NC, a D and a W over Guinn lol
Shame, damn shame.
Toney can lose weight easily all he has to do is stay away from FRIED EVERYTHING, burgers, pizza, sodas, and anything else that is good, cake, steak, and smothered pork chops.
Toney has said before that he likes being a heavyweight because he doesn't have to watch his diet like he did before, not as much at least. but if he were to get a nutritionalist and actually follow what the diet they set for him he can lose weight, anyone can, look at actors, they gain and lose weight all the time, all Toney has to do is CARE TO LOSE WEIGHT.
The majority of people here have been banned, that says nothing.
And there are many other people here that see right through the way you stalk Toney threads looking to speak about things you have no actual knowledge of.
You're ignorant, you talk out of your ass, and you look like a dork. I'd be more than happy to say anything I've said to you right to that goofy looking face of yours. But that's e-threats, something typical of cowards like yourslef.
What I'd like to see, is you say some of the things you type about Toney to his face. The shit running down your legs out the bottom of your pants would make a great photo.
You're weak minded, ignorant, and the one who ventured away from the topic of the thread looking to run your meaningless social commentary.
Again, a complete waste.

Bozo I'm not the only one here who you rub the wrong way. You've been banned multiple times if I recall correctly.
You know, I would love to hear you say some of the shit you do here to my face. You wouldn't. You are an asshole who gets off on provoking people on an internet forum. There is nothing impressive about that, so drop the condescending tone in your posts or fuck off.

i think he can lose more weight than he's been doing. james gets up to around 275 in between fights, so he's dumping around forty lbs in training camp each time. i think he thinks the extra pounds help him take a punch.
i think he'd slip the shots better if he walked into the ring at 230 or less. at 227 he beat down and knocked out evander holyfield, that's where he needs to be

Motivated by spite? Look at you you little bitch, every second you spend at this site is spent consumed in bitterness and anger because of how fucking pathetic you are. Have you ever thought that it isn't normal to go around a forum provoking fights with everyone?
Just read what you just wrote and talk to me about anger.
You're a dork faced simpleton, and when I see you talking out of your ass, I'll call you on it.

Roach commented on his roadwork for that fight in a way that made it sound like it was out of the ordinary.
I would say this makes it sound as if James has not normally been doing road work for his recent fights. I'm talking James Toney at heavyweight in general, not his training for a single fight.
And on the topic of this thread, we're talking about reccently, and now.
He did roadwork for the 1st Peter fight, and has been in conditioning training since October.
That makes your contributions useless, and motivated by spite, as per usual.
Run along clown.
Roach commented on his roadwork for that fight in a way that made it sound like it was out of the ordinary.
"He ran, and he's been doing road-work" Roach continued. "It's a plus. He's been running the streets for quite a while."

I've heard he doesn't do roadwork. That sounds like a serious lack in work ethic to me.
Once again we find you in a James Toney thread talking about things you know nothing about.
Roach was quoted in an interview prior to the Peter fight talking about the Road work Toney was doing.
It's also been noted Toney has been in conditioning training since October for this fight coming up.
Funny how what "you hear" coincides with your spitefull hating.
You should really stick to threads you contribute posatively to, like defending Oleg Maskaev.
My question is, how in shape can he be when he can't train like a professional boxer for fear of another injury? Again, Roach stated his happiness after they made it out of a training camp unscathed. This doesn't bode well for an athlete looking to lose weight when his trainer is overjoyed when he doesn't get injured.
No matter how old he is Toney can lose alot more weight than he has been losing before fights. He's just too lazy to do it. His laziness cost him in his last fight because he was too out of shape to avoid alot of Peter's punches. An in shape Toney would of beaten Peter with ease and wouldn't of had to take alot of those punches.
Being overweight in bodybuilding will cost you the contest. Being overweight in boxing can cost you your life. Toney says shit like this to make excuses for his lack of discipline and work ethic. Toney's lucky that Rahman and Peter were not in better shape themselves to capitalize on his lardyness.
So you would argue it's his lack of work ethic?

NO............................................ his time is over
please stay out of JT threads.... for the sake of my eyes
sure, i think he made some better strides 'weight-wise' in the Peter fight..
Sure he can. He can lose 20 pounds the healthy way from now until fight night easily. Worst case scenerio I imagine hes 240 right now. 220 would be easy to get to in 6 weeks.
