Pacquiao is having a nice time thanks to Morales being 30 and battle worn, Barrera 32 and ring old, and Marquez being 33 and having lost a step. Five years ago, or if Pacquiao was at a similar state, he loses to all three one way or another. lots of wut if...... if only marquez accepted that rematch for $750,000 (which should be his highest pay) we wouldnt have this debate.... if only that stupidiot judge scored it correctly in the first round, PACMAN would have won the fight and we wouldnt have this debate... if PACMAN won instead of the draw, for sure he'll give marquez a rematch and prolly accept $100,000 purse... ifs continues....

Marquez has lost a step. You could say he was being more aggressive on purpose with Jaca, but he wasn't as fluid as he was. I don't see anyone winning a straight up shootout with Pacquiao. Marquez can match him for accuracy, but not power. If it comes down to who lands first, Marquez is screwed. Be nice to see if he stands and trades, though. it wont last long if marquez does that though.

I would have to think hard, but I don't ever remember a fighter being floored three times in the first round, and then fighting all the way to the end. 99.9% of the time, when a fighter is dropped three times in round one, he gets knocked out before the final bell. And Marquez did not run in the fight or try to stay away, he stood there and fought because he doesnt have the legs to stay away from Pacquiao, who is quick on his feet. this is not an excuse, but pacquiao broke his left hand after the 3rd kd thats why he wasnt able to follow up for the kill.... So if a lot more people than yourself see it the same way, then fighting Barrera is a waste of time. As it stands now, fighting Barrera for Pacquiao makes sense only for Barrera. If plenty of people think it's waste of time, how will it sell more than a fight with Marquez, which most people consider is unfinished business? because barera and pac are superstars :D there are few hardcore fans out there. most people that buy ppvs are casual fans. i beleive they make up for the bigger market. ergo.

That's right. Pacquiao has the right to turn the Marquez fight down if he chooses. I wouldn't blame him if he did. But as you say, it's a business, and the way I see it, a Marquez rematch is better business for Pacquiao than it is to fight Barrera. barera and pac would sell more IMO. marquez would be vindication for pac. he beat barera he dont need to prove anything else.

Top Rank was going to make more money than both fighters combined for that fight if I remember.
