Morales wants one more title!

Morales wants one more title! As previously reported, ring legend Erik Morales says he wants one more fight in Tijuana, then he plans to retire. However, Morales isn't planning a "goodbye fight" against lesser opposition. "El Terrible" wants to end his career fighting for the WBC lightweight world title in June or July in an attempt to break the Mexican record he shares with Julio Cesar Chavez of winning world titles in three different divisions. "I will not make a goodbye tour," said Morales. "I will only fight for the world lightweight title....then win or lose, I will go away from boxing." From Fightnews :boxing:

I rather he didn't. but if he is he should go after Juan Diaz. I think he'll beat him pretty easy. I think he also does well against the IBF champions. Jesus Chavez (who he already beat) and Julio Diaz. He needs to stay away from Joel Casamayor. I think it'll be a bad match up style wise.

Juan Diaz is too much for him at the level of his career..... agreed,diaz is 1 of the few fighters with a chance against pacquiao,so for morales to fight him would be a silly move

Trust me mate, 3 more years at the top level and he'd most definitely turn into a slurring cabbage in his late 40s. He's given the sport more than enough of himself. His fights with Barrera and Pacquiao weren't the only great ones- check out Chi, Espadas, Zaragoza etc. Goodbye, Erik, and thanks for everything.

eric is still young,he just need a break,not retired. i believe he still great ,maybe he can make his 2nd prime. he will fight 3 years at least. 3 years? Ha! He's my favourite fighter and I'd prefer it if he retired now.

he's a living legend....he dosn't need to do shiat to get his title shot....they get it regardless.....that is one hell of a way to go out....yeah he's lost 4 out of 5 but look against who....win or lose he will still be a lock for the HOF and his opponent would love it because it means they get a fat check against him.....GO MORALES!!!!

He's done so much for the sport that one last request for a belt in my opinion is well deserved. I'm not saying it's the most wise decision, but it's understandable coming from El Terrible.

Seems to me MOST of you are all missing the point.. Erik Morales regardless of he HAS been or at Whatever weight .. Has still lost 4 of his last 5 fights including 2 KO's.. Now I am a fan of Erik.. but WHAT has he done to deserve a TITLE shot???

why ruin his legendary image even more?? He told his fans to stick by him for one last time for the 3rd Pacman fight, he showed courage and determination, made weight, went in strong and got outclassed by a prime Pac. He goes out now, he has all the respect of the people for goin out fighting against the best P4P. the whole idea of being a great warrior is 2 push yourself to ur limits and go where nobody has been before,so i dont blame him for wanting 1 last fight

erik is the man! i wish him the best, i don't think that it's the best move but i understand where he's coming from. at least he's not saying that he's going to keep fighting UNTIL he wins a belt, he's just going for one more shot, can't blame him there. i love morales' attitude dude is a pure fighter. best of luck El Terible!
