Once he's older and slower....will he have the fundementals to stay competitive?
We saw what happened to Roy Jones Jr once his reflex and speed diminished.
We shall see. Unless he abruptly retires and runs for President of the Philippines. ;)
I think when he's older and slower for sure he'll make love with the canvass! LOL
PACMAN still a one-trick pony?
No. the answer to your question is a simple and direct no. He definitely shook Morales with a hook and that can be seen in the 1st round.
I am sold.. PAC is the man.. its gonna take an extremely talented and tough boxer to beat him anytime soon.. Pac is Not an orthodox talent.. But his blend of speed, power and chin mixed with vastly improved skills are a deadly mix..
that underrated chin :D

at least pac showed he can and is willing to improve. the first kd was actually a counterpunch i dont believe ive ever seen him do that. he also had some uppercuts which i never saw pac do before.
Absolutely. He looked better this weekend than I've seen him look. A desire to improve is the mark of a true champion....and yes, his counter-punching and uppercuts were definitely new additions to his game....at least, like I said, from what I've seen.
He's got all the physical gifts an athlete could want; and apparently he's hungry mentally as well, which means he knows he can improve. If he adds more skill to his technique he's truly going to be a monster.
I agree with the notion that they made him realize his limitations and that probably encouraged him to listen to Freddie on the finer points of the game.

you dont have to KO everyone with every punch for it to be effective...his right hook is damned powerful and effective to setup his even more powerful straight left...
pacman has the right hook, straight left, a nice developing right uppercut, combinations, jump in and out jab, head movement
he has more than many think
YEAH! Remember how bad Pac stumbled going backwards in their first fight? Damn! Pac was so used to assaulting lesser opponents! That's what happens when natural raw talent runs into an experienced warrior! JMM and Erik actually helped improve Pac!

I agree. But he still lack some defense. He still leave himself open after throwing a combo. He got tagged by EM a couple of times because of this. Basically, his defense is his offense.
Good observation; but I think Roach said he stayed in the pocket longer because he wanted a quick win due to having a fever going into the fight....and figureed enticing Erik to trade was the best way to do that.
Still, there's always room for improvement and his defense could be better.
No, I think his technique has improved vastly since the first Morales fight, which was the first time I'd seen him. He's good skills and power, to say nothing of heart and a chin. He's far from a one-trick pony.

Is PACMAN still a one-trick pony? All 3 knockdowns in the Grand Finale came from his left hand.
Who do you think can destroy the "Destroyer"?

Larry Merchant and Manny Steward have commented on the phrase as well. Their answer was not definite but it was more along the lines of "he's improved since his draw against JMM."
what I think he's best improvement is his added counter punching ability, he can now throw punch while backing off...
They came from the left hand, but Morales was initially rocked by the right, which started the damage in the third.
I watch his right hook in slow mo...thought it was more of a slap than a punch...EM was still fighting strong after gettin tagged by PAC's right hooks...
