undefeated he beat some big guys winning 3 gold medals in the olympics...
Cuba has some great boxers too bad castro wont let them fight in america...or make a living.

here are some fights of his.
Felix savon vs lamon brewster.
Felix Savon vs David Tua- he knocked out tua with headgear lol
Don't be fooled by those wins, he was beating kids, thats all they were at that time. No doubt the guy was talented, but he was taking advantage of the system.
Savon would have been one of the most dominant heavies ever! He would have been a bit heavier as a pro, but he just had the perfect mix, speed of hand and foot, movement, power, balance, everything was there. And all though its amatuer, look at the roll call on his record, aside from tua and brewster - golota, kirk johnson, kransniqi, sultan ibragimov, david izon , ray mercer, shannon briggs.
A treat to watch on an amatuer level, a shame we never saw him pro
Change the bolded to "might have" and you would have a good point there.
Did Lewis ever fight this guy?
They're about the same age, right?
probably not, Savon actually weighed under 201, because that is heavyweight amateur, over is superheavyweight, which is what Lewis was. Tough to believe that David Tua was also under 201, but I guess he must have been.
This has already been discussed. And he wasnt undefeated, that article says about 19 loses.I dont know the exact number but a handful of those were by ko.
I forget what fighter it was,I think it was Briggs,he said he gave credit to Savon but that it was like a boy against a man in there, which is true because Savon was usually much older then his younger opponents.
people will always have there skeptics...but the truth is its harder to knock someone out or down in the amatuers with head gear and bigger gloves then it is in the professionals.
of course age comes experience and smarts...but his knockouts of lamon and tua...come on and with head gear on his ring savy was tremendous he utilized his reach and combos and jab..he had sharp timed straights.

I have heard he had a suspect chin myself. Roberto Balado would have been just as good but he was killed in a car crash in 94 or so and he may have defected like others.
lmao no one gives a shit abou tthis?
damn
