The whole this "fighter did this against this fighter so he will do this to this fighter" doesnt really work. Example, Chop Chop stunend Floyd, but Judah and Gatti did not. I dont get the whole Margirito hype, because size really doesnt matter all that much. Judah is much faster and a much better boxer, with comparable partner, and FLoyd handled him. The main difference is that Wladimir is not nearly the virtuoso that Mayweather is. Margarito is also not nearly the sharp shooter with accurate punches that Briggs is. Margarito's only prayer in beating a guy with better skill is to overwhelm them. Also, at welterweight there isn't as much power in the division as at heavyweight. Wladimir has shown many deficiencies and a big, quick guy like Briggs can exploit them. youre just scared that briggs will come to your house and rape you if you say he's gonna get KO'd. ...that being said, i think briggs is gonna win by KO in 1 round. ...please dont rape me shannon :ugh:

Mayweather struggled with Castillo, who isn't as big or as strong or as tough as Margarito. I'm not saying Margarito fights exactly like Castillo but he would be pressuring him as Castillo did. Also Briggs is not as accurate as Margarito IMO. He's a clubbing puncher who's relatively quick for his mass but in no way does he impress me as an accurate or snappy puncher. He mainly hit Sergei to the sides of the head from what I remember, nothing clean to the chin or jaw. Sergei's punches to Brigg's head clearly had nothing on them. They were like love taps compared to what he threw at Brewster.

briggs' chin is very underated Man Sergei was hitting him with shit ;) He was throwing so crappy that I belive taht even I could take those shots withouht dropping. They were just bad...He was in horrid shape. Fat man punches. When I boxed a 230-240lb guy I thought he was gonna KTFO me, cause he was so huge, but not ripped ;) And I have been hit WAY harder by 160lb guys then him. And thats what Sergei looked like, like a fatman who looks like he can punch hard but in reality cant for shit. Anyway I just dont see Briggs winning. Wlads jabs and right hand is system overload for Briggs. And even if Briggs drops Wlad, Wlad will stand up and knock him out, like he won against Peter.

Briggs does seem to have at least some personality, unlike the other guys at the top. Someone mentioned it before, about these Eastern European guys being dull. Every sport needs personalities. As far as the boxing side goes, Briggs needs to trim some of that bulk off and be more active, or he may not hold that belt for longer. He's one of the few current threats to Klitschko, but he needs to be much better than he currently is.

I'm in a similar situation as you. One of my favorite fighters is Antonio Margarito. I love his style of forward action and vicious punching. I know his faults, he's easy to hit and his handspeed isn't impressive, but I really give him a good shot at beating Mayweather because I will he will utilize his strength and size to pressure the smaller but superior Mayweather and knock him out. When I mention this on the forum, I encounter criticism. Likewise you Briggs fans see him beating Wladimir Klitschko while I laugh at the idea. I just don't see it happening. I'm not trying to compare Wlad to Mayweather but there are similarities here. We both back a guy the majority of fans don't see having a chance, but in our minds we can visualize the upset so clearly and wonder why no one else can see it. Here's the difference. I do think Margarito has a much better chance of pulling off his upset than Briggs. He has size on his side in addition to his stylistic advantages and I think lacking handspeed is a more forgiveable weakness than having no stamina. Briggs really just strikes me as an incomplete fighter whereas Margarito is a flawed masterpiece who will always find a way to win at welterweight. The point though is, putting yourself in someone else's shoes and trying to figure out how they can see a fight going a certain way that differs from yours. Having respect for their opinion. If you have any objectivity you can look at yourself and say "you know, I favor so and so against this fighter when no one else does so maybe this other guy isn't so crazy in his pick here". Castillo is a much better fighter than Margarito, I've never been impressed with Margarito other than his size. Briggs is quicker and you're also dealing with a fighter who can't handle speed. Wladimir will fold if you put the heat on him, thats where my assessment of Briggs' prospects come from.
