Holyfield vs. Oquendo Round by Round

Holyfield Knocked down Oquendo ugly, right hook straight to the temple! Holyfield wasn't as busy as Oquendo, but he sure as hell hurt Oquendo a couple of times. This isn't like the Toney and Peter fight, Toney actually did damage and schooled Peter in boxing.

I don't think any of you guys who want Holyfield to retire are genuinely concerned for his health. You just don't like the guy, period. In your heart of hearts you want him to continue so that he would get a real beating, and then you can have your little celebrations. And maybe in the back of your minds, Holyfield just might end up beating any of the so-called heavyweight champs and you don't want to see Holyfield become champ again. You want to keep holding him down to ensure he won't accomplish his goal. I personally think Holyfield should retire and that he is just a shell of himself. But he knows the dangers of this sport, and if he gets seriously hurt, that's on him and he is well aware of that. lol, so you think that everyone who wants to Holyfield to retire, doesn't want him to retire, we want him to continue so that he takes beatings, but we are scared that we will win the title again so on the other hand we do want him to retire. I'm a bit lost on your logic...

i honestly think any notable HW can beat Maskaev. he is old, not really good at all. i can see briggs,brock, and MAYBE even holyfield can beat him...and thats saying alot

I think Holyfield doesn't stand a chance against any of those four after watching him tonight. I would pick Oquendo to beat Maskaev, I honestly would. Maskaev had Rahman's number, but he really isn't a very good fighter. He is a slow 37 year old with knockout losses to Lance Whitaker, Kirk Johnson, and Corey Sanders (the crappy one who did the exhibition with Tyson). All three of Oquendo's losses prior to this were very competitive fights to fighters who were ranked in the top ten at the time he fought them (Byrd, Ruiz, and Tua). Yes, Ruiz is a world class guy, I don't particularly like him either.

Well, I'm not shocked Oquendo lost, I knew their was a good chance of Holyfeild winning, because I knew this was a stupid match-up anyway, so why was it made lol Don't belive Holyfeild being back, Oquendo probaly took a dive or something, Holyfeilds done... Naw, I had Oquendo winning the fight, and so did the FSN team. The judges should be sent to prison for opening the door for another fight that will send Holyfield to his doom.

lol i would love to see him fight valuev. valuev cant fight for shit and holyfield is experienced enuff to know wat to do. i mean come on, how can u be that big and punch like a kitten! i am totally surprised that he won tonight and i really thinl he needs to retire, but if he wants a title fight then valuev it is!

Hopefully he can just fight and beat Maskaev, and then in his own mind he will have won back the heavyweight crown and retire. The man doesn't know when to quit. Retiring after winning a title would be the best way to go.

I had Oquendo winning most of the rounds because he was setting the pace with his jab, but it was a really close fight.

Holyfield was SO LAZY. His defense was awkward, but he had the punch speed to finish that piece of crap Oquendo and he didnt because he's a brain damaged moron. Whatever, the better boxer won. No one had better say that this was a bad decisions because Oquendo winning any fight is a bad idea,regardless of if he beat Evander by a round tonight.

I'm giving Holyfield props. He went the distance with a guy that not many people were expecting him to go 12 with, but he did and the judges scored it as a win as well. Good job Holyfield.

Why didn't they just give it to Oquendo? They are giving Holyfield a reason to keep on fighting.

u had to see it comin. were the cards rediculous? one card was 114-113 and 116-111 i think. We'll know for sure from the other sites.
