Lets say 10 years from today, your son, or grankid for some of you comes up to you and asks you;
"Who is Floyd MayweatherJr??"
what would you say??
(if you dont get the question, is what is floyds legacy soo far)
i would say... back in the day he was a amazing fighter that had all the skills but he never reached his full potential because he was always looking for the money fights instead of the real fights in wich he probly would have won but instead he just said nah i,ll wait for a big money fight.
If Floyd retires after his next fight I would say that he was a great fighter who never truly made the most of his clearly awesome skills. He retired when he was in his prime and so robbed himself of impressive victories against the likes of Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, Vernon Forrest, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto etc. however, if he fights and beats DLH in his next fight then that may all be changed, as that will be an incredible achievement given the size disparity and given Oscar's skills. He will be remembered as a very good champion were he to quit now, but not a great one. He has never unified all the belts and never dominated a division for an extended period of time. I feel that he could do this at welter and I hope that he does.
By the way, I didnt mention Antonio Margarito because Daniel Santos proved he ain't worth fucking mentioning
10 years from now floyds legacy will be even greater,he may even still be fightin we dont know
but i would say he is 1 of the most skilled fighters ever 2 lace em up,not up with the greats just yet because of his opposition,but definately hangs in there with the greats due 2 skill and his smart fighting,always in great shape and prepared 4 a fight
