Can he do it? I think that he has the best chance. If he gets more poilshed and continues to become better at his defense (like tonight), I could see him being a problem. For one he has a high punch out put. He is non-stop and barely gives you room to breathe. If he just perfects his jab he could be a major threat to Mayweather. And he can take a good shot as well. Also eventhough he would be bigger than Floyd he wouldn't be as slow as Baldomir or even Margarito. What do you guys think???
That guy was out on his feet. He was pretty tough though. He took that fight on a day's notice damn. Paul was killin' him they should have stopped the fight a round earlier. There was no need for him to take any more shots.
I have never understood why people use to think that Williams could give Floyd problems. His style seems made for Floyd. Sure he has a high output and the height but he gets hit non stop, has no defense, and is super inexperienced. Floyd would carve him up and he would be aggressive against him, not defensive.
I think Floyd would fight him like Winky. Walk him down with his hands up high and fighting behind the guard, just picking off all his shots and countering them with sharp accurate punches
Well since all the replies have been hell no could a polished Williams be the answer? He's still young and has to work on a few things but, I believe that he will be a very good figther. He has no ceiling on his potential. Think about how effective his jab could be against Floyd, if used properly.
That's the only problem by the time he would be ready for Floyd (in a couple of big fights) he would probably have moved up by then. Whoever beats Floyd though is going to be a younger fighter for sure. I think Williams has the best chance out of everyone else right now. Mosley's best days are behind him, and he gets discouraged when he doesn't do well (Mosley vs. Wright 1&2). And as for Oscar, there is no way after being off for a year that he can beat P4P in the world.
Not yet... Too inexperienced for Floyd right now... But later it could play out like Roy Jones did... Tall southpaw finally breaks the aura of immortality... I doubt it though.
