upon Winky Entering the ring to fight Taylor:
"And heres a live shot of winky wright. With a bussiness suit on, and a TIE around his neck, and hes wearing Trousers. And the obvious message is, THIS IS MY BUSINESS, IM GOIN TO WORK!" - JIM LAMPLEY
i love that line

ahh, the charming wit that is lennox lewis. damn, he is sharp!
I LOVE max kellerman. He knows an amazing amount about the sport and he gets it out there so well.
please don't say that! he did some reading on boxing but doesn't understand a damn thing about doing it. he still thinks roy jones is the greatest fighter ever! i mean, damn!!!!

I remebered in one of the fights where Larry Merchant becomes crazy and says he gotta hit and its a boxing match. I think it was one of mayweather's fight i am not sure.
lol - i'm with ya on that!
i remember that line. that comment was spot on.
i always enjoy hearing the "flailing like a drunken sailor" line from the v klitschko/sanders fight. however, i don't think it's an underrated comment.
i can't f'ing believe i read some kellerman quotes. max has his head up his ass. i do not know one single person who thinks he's a good commentator or even just a likable tv personality.

Jim Lampley knows way more about boxing, but when his transitions are kinda bad. While max does it without a hiccup.
There is nobody that id rather have taking over the spot of larry merchant when merchant retires.
However, that black guy? is TERRIBLE!!!! how he got that job i will never know. id much rather have joe tessitore or something.
that guy is garbage. He hardly talks, and when he does its to point out something that is blatantly obvious
I agree. Max is all business, no bullshit. He tells it like it is and doesn't try to sell the fight.
Anybody see Lampley on Jim Rome show yesterday? He said Baldomir's only chance is if Mayweather breaks both his hands. LOL!!!
it wouldnt be the biggest upset in last few decades if people thought baldomir was gonna win :D
the fact that soooo many people have mayweather winning this fight, makes the prospect of baldomir winning soooo much sweeter.
U'll kill urself on sunday if Baldomir wins and u miss one of the biggest upsets in sports!
That was the first time he appeared on HBO and those were the first words he said. Max is the man. After Teddy Atlas of course.

Roberto, to post a picture it has to be on the net, not on your computer.
"You can only describe these last two rounds in the terms of blood, guts, and glory." Lampley on MAB vs. Morales III
"They'll savagely trade until the final bell!" Lampley on MAB and Morales trading in the last ten seconds of their third fight.
Don't know if its under appreciated, but perhaps my favorite commentator line of all time is Lampley on Gatti-Ward:
"STOP IT FRANK! You can stop it anytime!!"
lol i forgot what Lennox Lewis said exaclty but he said something like this that had me diein...
"Maskeav Reminds of a siberian giant Running through the snow"
In fact, I will refer to him as Larry "The Blade" Merchant from here on.
lol - i'm with ya on that!
"Yes Castillo's defense is good but on offense he's been punting"
i remember that line. that comment was spot on.

I love lines from Teddy Atlas:
"If you were alergic to straight punches you wouldn't have to worry about sneezing in this fight."
"body shots are like putting money in the bank, you have to wait for interest to accumulate."
Without a DOUBT Larry Merchant is the funniest commentator of all time. The guy is as sharp as a knife when it comes to wisecracks. In fact, I will refer to him as Larry "The Blade" Merchant from here on.
Merchant:
"Once upon a time Hopkins was a young lion going after his pray, now he's an old lion just waiting in the bushes hoping someting comes by" - Hopkins vs Taylor I.
I'm not exactly sure if that were the exact words though
Winky vs tito
Lamply:
Orthadox vs southpaw, right jab vs left hook, tito againts winky.
"Winky trows his hands up as to say do you love me now,? Do you know me now?"
Larry:
A star puts buts in the seat. That's what a star is we are yet to see if winky can do that.
Larry on strum vs de la hoya
Not much of a fight but these 2 fighters look like they can pass for male models
