Last Friday, Carlos Baldomir took the scales at his seven-day interval weigh-in for this weekend's welterweight championship defense against Floyd Mayweather, coming in at 153.5 pounds.
Baldomir lost 7.5 pounds in the 23 days since his 30-day weigh-in, leaving him seven days to lose another 6.5 pounds.
Do you think Baldomir will make weight? He's a good bit away, but I don't think he's been anywhere near as drained as guys like Corrales, Castillo and Cotto have been in recent fights. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if we have more drama on the scales.
I'm sure he will, this is the fight that would put him right into the boxing history book. Maybe he wants to de-hydrate fast before the fight so he can gain weight faster and more comfortable after the weigh-in.
Baldomir has been dropping weight like this his entire career. He'll be ready...
So have Corrales and Castillo and look what happened to them.
I'm sure he will make weight.
he'll definetly be ready. He hasnt even done the "not eating" thing and he'll lose another pound or two the day of the fight (water weight)
If baldomir comes in over weight for the biggest fight of his career, it would be shameful and i would feel VERY bad for him. the fight would most certainly go on though... but he'll make weight anyway
