Here he is in Wembly Stadium. Henry Cooper at 183 knocked down Muhammad Ali at 207. Observe Ali's body language you will see it took him a long time to recover! Although history does not acknowedge it, Cooper was a puncher and a 183 pound puncher hurt anybody.
i like this saying better:
" it's not the size of the fight, but the fight in the dog "
I believe it's
"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog"
It isnt always an advantage. It can mean u are slower and tire quicker.
But as they say a good big guy beats a good little guy. Or sum shit like that.

It's not a myth. Size is an advantage in any fight. Doesn't always mean the bigger guy would win it just means they have somthing extra.

The cut glove incident in this fight is the kind of professional genius that makes these great fighters great really. The best fighters are the ones that know the tricks, and in this case, Dundee was masterful.
Genius? It was just a cut glove. Im sure its been done many times by cornermen who we have never heard of.
Probably because their fighters arent very good.
Id call it desperation and quick thinking. Not genius or masterful.
Someone here is up somone elses ass.

Taller guys have a harder time hitting to the body, and can be hit themselves to the body
Somebody has to counter the "size advantage" myth. :boxing:

Size can matter, just not all the time...taller/bigger fighters can also be slower and have less stamina...Klitzy is rare, he has speed, and has agility, although his stamina is questionable, but that just might be because he tries to throw to many punches instead of just jabbing the shit out someone like Lennox Lewis did.
Its prolly cause you never faught against big guys who can fight, that u think size does not matter.
When did I say size didn't matter? Read my posts, I consistently said it is overrated.
Size did matter when Barrett fought Valuev. Barrett just stood in front of him and threw a few haymakers. That is what Henry Cooper might have done, but he had a knockout punch, Barrett does not. Barrett couldn't use firepower to neutralize the size advantage so he had to do something else. He didn't do it, consequently size became a big issue. Watch Larry Donald give Valuev a boxing lesson then you will see what Barrett should have done.

Plus, no offence Mr Potatoe, but u keep making the same thread! lol
"Joe Louis proved size is overrated"
"Valuev poroves size does NOT matter"
and now
"Cooper proves size is overrated"
Change the record sunshine!

Size can be given to much emphasis, but it is an important factor.
Plus that example of Cooper- Clay is used all time for different reasons. But although Cooper had a great left hook, Clay was pissing about waiting for the nxt round so that he could make his "prediction" come true.
